I'm getting a message from two different PCs that the Twitter homepage has been hacked by the "Iranian Cyber Army". I also cannot access it with other clients that use the API (they throw certificate errors).
Epic fail from here. Grab a screen cap if you can. :-)
It’s not loading on my puter at the moment, after trying with Firefox and Opera....it appears to be down.
Twitter has been extremely effective in providing an information conduit among the Iranian Pro-Democracy protesters, so I have no doubt that the Iranian gov’t is putting a lot of effort into hacking it.
Looks like it’s down. I can’t even connect to it.
Prelude to....?
Thanks, I was just going to check my accounts.
Thanks Vel.
No Luck with Safari either... hmmmm....
You’re welcome.
I logged in earlier. About an hour ago (2330 CST). But now I’m not able to get on...what’s up?
Yep, I can’t get in.
Thanks for the screen cap, Vel. I see that everyone else is getting it also. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t my local machine or DNS hijacked. Look like someone got root on Twitter. Makes me wonder if something is up in Iran.
My last Twitter/Breaking News RSS delivery was Fri, 18 Dec 2009 05:17:44 +0000
I was on about 8pm CST for a few minutes and everything was fine then.

Yes.
Thanks Vel and thanks for the link.

Khamenei: Enemies Of The Regime Will Disappear Like Foam On The Water
Referring to an incident in which a Student Day (December 7) demonstrators tore up a picture of founder of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that the enemies of the regime are “like foam on the water” and would disappear in the same way.
Tehran prosecutor-general Jafari Dolatabadi announced that the regime had arrested students who tore up banners of Khomeini and Khamenei.
