Never knew she was married when she played Bernadette in Song of Bernadette. Style and class, the likes of which cannot be found today.

It was a different time. Hollywood still had standards and many actors and actresses had “morality clauses” in their contracts with the studios. Now anything goes.

I watch many a movie on the Turner Classic Movies channel and while they can be somewhat slow, simplistic or maybe even hokey, there’s no comparison to most of today’s crap.

I’m not sure what classics you watched, but let me tell you the list of enjoyable movies to epic movies are endless between the years 1933 to 1953. You need to watch TCM more, you’ll see.

Sad. R.I.P. She was a lovely lady.

Fresh, innocent, and wholesome. Hard to blame Selznick- those days there was no sexual harrasment.

TCM is my default channel.

I am in my mid 30s and watch a lot of TCM. It was Remington Steele that got me started on old movies. Most of the ones on TCM are better than the garbage of today. One recent discovery I made was “The House Of Bamboo”.

I’ve always loved her. My favorite performance of hers was in Lubitsch’s comedy Cluny Brown. She gave an absolutely delightful performance. She was great at comedy as well as drama.

If I do I won't get any work done. Oh wait ... I'm retired ... ok!
