Jennifer Jones, the actress who won an Academy Award for her luminous performance in the 1943 film "The Song of Bernadette" and who was married to two legendary men -- producer David O. Selznick and industrialist and art collector Norton Simon -- died today. She was 90.
Jones died of natural causes at her home in Malibu, according to Leslie C. Denk, a spokeswoman for the Norton Simon Museum of Art in Pasadena.
Jones oversaw the museum following Simon's death in 1993, but she was best known for her movie career.
In all, she starred in more than two dozen films, playing opposite such A-list actors as William Holden, Joseph Cotten and Gregory Peck.

Miss Jones was a fabulous and beautiful actress.
She was great in Since You Went Away and Duel in the Sun.
RIP, Ms. Jones.
She will be missed. Very elegant actress.
Never knew she was married when she played Bernadette in Song of Bernadette. Style and class, the likes of which cannot be found today.
It was a different time. Hollywood still had standards and many actors and actresses had “morality clauses” in their contracts with the studios. Now anything goes.
She will always be Bernadette to me...
I watch many a movie on the Turner Classic Movies channel and while they can be somewhat slow, simplistic or maybe even hokey, there’s no comparison to most of today’s crap.
Pretty gal indeed.. and a damned fine actress to boot. RIP

I’m not sure what classics you watched, but let me tell you the list of enjoyable movies to epic movies are endless between the years 1933 to 1953. You need to watch TCM more, you’ll see.
Sad. R.I.P. She was a lovely lady.
Fresh, innocent, and wholesome. Hard to blame Selznick- those days there was no sexual harrasment.
RIP Jennifer Jones.
TCM bump.
And beyond, if you're watching Hitchcock, Kazan or Wilder.
TCM is my default channel.
I am in my mid 30s and watch a lot of TCM. It was Remington Steele that got me started on old movies. Most of the ones on TCM are better than the garbage of today. One recent discovery I made was “The House Of Bamboo”.
I’ve always loved her. My favorite performance of hers was in Lubitsch’s comedy Cluny Brown. She gave an absolutely delightful performance. She was great at comedy as well as drama.
