Clinton say US will join $100 billion a year climate deal
Boston Globe ^ | 12/17/2009 | Beth Daley

COPENHAGEN – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today said that the US would help create a $100 billion-a-year fund to help developing countries adapt to climate change and transition to greener technologies. The announcement at the UN climate summit could be the trigger in cinching a deal where more than 190 countries are down to the wire to sign a global climate accord by tomorrow, when the conference is scheduled to end. Developing countries are adamant a deal must include billions of dollars to help them deal with the consequences of a warmer world that wealthier countries caused from emissions during their industrial eras. Clinton said the money would be in place by 2020. However, she made clear the money would be taken off the table unless China agreed to be monitored to ensure it is abiding by its pledge to reduce emissions, as well as other conditions. Weary negotiators continue to spar over many critical issues around targets and financing here but China’s continual refusal to be monitored by the international community is a looming one that has not budged in recent days Clinton said the money would come from a “wide variety of sources, public and private” and include alternative financing, but would not elaborate what that would entail. A special focus would be on protecting forests, a key absorber of heat-trapping carbon dioxide. The secretary of state's announcement follows the news yesterday that the US and five other nations pledged $3.5 billion to help developing countries protect forests. The UN Climate Change Conference runs from Dec. 7 to Dec. 18. For more information visit the conference website.

They will take the money off the table if China doesn’t play along-

Isn’t it China’s money they are playing with? Aren’t they the US’ “bank”?

10 billion IF China allows inspections (good luck with that), Funds to come from a combination of “private” and public sources along with some financing. This has to be approved by the Congress anyway and my guess is with an already ruiness deficit this is going nowhere.

Also keep in mind the actions of a Congress are not bound by the actions of the preceding Congress. What this Congress does can be undone, in this case by simply not appropriating any funds.

All this is is Odumbo throwing the Lefties a bone so they can claim they did SOMETHING. And when China refuses inspections, Odunbo will say “I tried but China wouldn’t cooperate, so blame them (or George Bush)”

And that my friends is what the Global Warming fraud is all about, the redistribution of our wealth to the third world countries.

So Clinton has the unilateral ability to commit billions now?

Not just no, but HELL NO!

The United States is broke. It's not that we shouldn't spend the money. It's that we do not have the money to spend!

This administration seems determined to find out about real pushback. It's a-comin'. The 2010 midterms should be pretty amazing, unless 0 tries to suspend the elections. In that case, there'll be an entirely different type of pushback!

Someone in poitics or in the media - conservative media - should start a campaign that runs for months not days; this campaign would be about “Where did they get the money?” It would be about two topics Cap and Trade and overseas abortions. We have plenty of problems in America and giving out money $100 billion at a time is amazing - that is about the cost of our daily debt service, so I ask where is the money going to come from??

I am not trying to be sarcastic, but what difference is 2010 going to make? With a 90% reelection rate, and I am not impressed with who is out there other than Palin, it is going to be the same ole same ole.

With voter fraud running rampant in this country and everybody knows it. I have little faith in the process.

“With a 90% reelection rate, and I am not impressed with who is out there other than Palin, it is going to be the same ole same ole.”

I expect the reelection rate in 2010 to be 60% or less. If not, the American people are a lot more stupid than I think (even if they did elect 0, that was a propaganda victory).

The bloom is definitely off the 0 rose.

BO was warned before he went over there that there would be no deals and no treaties without it passing through Congress. If he signs anything, it is between HIM and THEM, and does not include US.

Clinton, you are a dried-up old bag. Leave us alone and leave our money alone. I thought you cared about “the children”? So..you are further selling their future down the drain. You confused, worthless loser. Take a leap into reality and resign in disgrace. You and your ilk make me gag.
