After Richard Nixon defused the 1960s student revolt by abolishing the draft, the brain trust of the revolutionary left shifted its strategic focus to Antonio Gramsci's teachings, realizing that it is the intelligentsia, not the proletariat, that is the true revolutionary force in society; that cultural dominance, not violent revolt, is the true path to power. A project known as the Great March through the Institutions was launched. Nearly four decades later, in November 2008, it triumphed in a historic electoral victory; the revolutionary wave crested and deposited in the White House Barack Obama, the most radical president in the history of the republic.
It is a favorite parlor game on the right to speculate whether Obama is a free agent or a puppet. Actually it is beside the point whether he is the leader of the "progressive" movement or merely its hood ornament. The point is that the radical left came to power eager to grasp the rare moment when all the stars were aligned in its favor, offering the revolutionaries a realistic chance of achieving their long-cherished goal of turning the U.S. into a European-style welfare state. It was now or never. Full speed ahead, and damn the torpedoes!

For a very significant reason I think the Republicans, especially John McCain, have made a grave error in defensively protesting so loudly that they are not challenging leftists' patriotism.
Once again I am afraid I'm going to have to have resort to reference to The Frankfurt School. This was an entity, a think tank in effect, established after World War I at the university in Frankfurt to explore why the socialist revolution in Russia was frustrated in Germany. More, the brief of the school was to clear the way intellectually for the success of worldwide Communism. In other words, these intellectuals were to identify those social institutions which acted to prevent the conquest of socialism and to provide the intellectual rationale to undermine and destroy them. Those institutions these intellectuals identified included the church, of the family-with the father of patriarchal figure, intellectual rigor, and nationalism. Love of country, patriotism, stands even today as a bulwark against every OneWorld impulse of the internationalist. Hence, nationalism had to be destroyed as a respectable philosophy. Patriotism had to be discredited.
The intellectuals at The Frankfurt School were all Jews and Hitler who if nothing else could always be counted on to recognize an enemy when he saw one, set out to destroy them, causing a great diaspora of these communists. Many of them found refuge in America where they prospered and, worse, their doctrines found fertile ground. This is the life spring of the antiwar movement in the 60s and 70s, the feminist revolution, the destruction of our educational system, the philosophies of relativism, and, of course, much anti-Americanism.
There is an unsourced and unconfirmed e-mail floating about the net which has appeared here on Free Republic which recites that Barak Obama's mother was a confirmed communist which evolved from her education by devotees of The Frankfurt School. Even if this e-mail is bogus, Obama's affiliation with the Saul Alinsky operation and the other acknowledged communists, makes it more likely than not that Obama shares the precepts of The Frankfurt School. All of this was certainly explain his behavior in Berlin, and his unremitting criticism of America and his relativism concerning, for example, infrastructure in China or Russia's invasion of George. Most egregiously, his efforts to undermine the surge and lose the war in Iraq.
So it is reasonable to question Obama's commitment to the United States of America as a nationstate. After all, America stands as the shining city on the hill, a bulwark against communism, the last great hope of mankind, but to the socialist, a repugnant anathema.

ObamaCare...on paper..is the final demented raving of a functionally insane institution...the US Congress...an entity so divorced from reality, singularly insulated from the populace it presumes to govern...by a Beltway Buffer of loot extracted from Flyover Country...that serves to distort its sensory organs toward its permanent and chronic self-sufflation and aggrandizement. The most we can hope for( and that they should pray for were they alert enough to the pending issues) is that the inevitable is less destructive than the French Revolution

I wish the problem were only the media but I fear it goes much deeper than that.
We are in a place in America today in which virtually every institution has been co-opted by the left. The infiltration is broad and deep and not one major institution has escaped. Our great universities, our teaching methods down through kindergarten, our great charitable foundations, our courts and the guilds such as the American Bar Association associated with the courts, the establishment churches, like the United Church of Christ, the Girl Scouts, the League of Women Voters, Hollywood, the publishing industry, the advertising industry. This list is by no means complete and it is growing daily under the predacious appetite of the Obama administration which has swallowed whole our industries such as automobile, insurance, banking.
If the problem were just the media we could hope for a solution coming of new technology. But I think the problem goes back to even before the Alinsky school to The Frankfurt School which was the precursor to the cultural subversion which has come to America and which found expression in the Alinsky school and political consummation in the election of Barack Obama. It is not by accident that all these institutions have fallen into the hands of the left. The left has generated a new eschatology, a whole new way of thinking, which rejects the logic and and culture that was the common experience in America at least through the Eisenhower administration.
The Frankfurt school was explicitly created to undermine those institutions which tended to hinder the sought after triumph of communism. These included the nation state, the church, the family, and the "liberal" tradition in education. So they devised means to undermine patriotism and combine that with wholesale immigration as just a couple of methods of undermining the nation state. They assaulted the churches and made expressions of Christianity in the public square illegal. To undermine the family, they belittled the father labeled him "authoritarian," derided paternalism, and encouraged abortion. They have had unimagined success in undermining our school system from kindergarten to postgraduate work. But the instances are merely the symptoms and the venues of the dirty work.
The main problem that comes out of The Frankfurt School is that it changes the way we think. If one legitimatizes relativism then one begins to talk about George Bush is the moral equivalent of Hitler. If one says that there is no such thing as historical reality, one has destroyed the underpinnings of civilization. If one espouses and sells a "critical theory" one has made all other forms of analysis except downright cynicism look naïve and unworthy. The examples of how the The Frankfurt School "deconstructed" our epistemology are truly frightening.
So the media behaves the way it does because that's the way it thinks and it thinks that way because that is the way it has been brought up. And all of this goes back To the Frankfurt School.
We are at a crisis in the moment because of the person of Barack Obama. We must bend every effort to prevent him from achieving the ultimate victory sought by The Frankfurt School and its disciples, Saul Alinsky, William Ayers, and the rest. But if we survive this crisis we must then as patriotic conservatives undertake the restoration of "liberal" common sense and biblical morality to our culture. That means we have to change the way people think, the way they see the world, their whole value system. That is what has been done to us and if we do not undo it we will always be one election away from the next Barack Obama.
