Declaring that she was honored and proud to run with him, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin pushed back hard Wednesday against a report that she had disrespected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by blacking out his name on a sun visor she wore on vacation.
The website TMZ accused Palin of a frontal attack on Sen. John McCain during a Hawaii vacation this week: Sarah chose to wear a visor from her campaign -- a visor that was emblazoned with the former presidential candidate's name ... that is, until Palin redacted McCain's name with a black marker.
But Palin said in a statement to POLITICO that she was just trying to be incognito -- to go unrecognized and shield her children and husband, Todd, from paparazzi.
The hotel where she was staying had to chase away five photographers, a friend said.
Palin said in the statement to POLITICO: I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."
The Palins were taking a break from a three-and-a-half-week book tour for her million-copy-selling memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life. Palin has signed more than 59,000 books -- an average of 1,750 per stop -- and has traveled more than 19,000 miles by plane and bus. She has spent 115 hours -- or 4.8 days -- signing books in 33 cities in 25 states. Her stops have included five military bases.

Finally, someone talking about core principles.
I think Rabscuttle knows I appreciate his posting here. I also think he probably knows I want him to respect others the way I wish I always did.
D1, I generally try to show respect for others here, but I will not suffer fools--including those who evade legitimate questions I may put forth and instead choose to start hurling invectives--lightly, and I will call things as I see them.
Just a guess, but acting femininely isn't at the top of your To Do list, is it?
The money raised an eyebrow.
This is what drove me wild:
"I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection."
The timing of this on-the-record quote is especially fishy, given McCain's recent barrage against J.D. Hayworth, likely in order to preclude him (or dissuade him) from running against McCain next year, since a recent Rasmussen poll put the two of them neck and neck in the 2010 Ariz. Senate GOP primary.
As for McCain's dirty tricks, try the mccaindirtytricks keyword.
The Tarrance Group recently conducted what J.D. Hayworth termed a "push poll" for a GOP group linked to McCain supporters. In the poll, the pollsters basically slimed and smeared J.D. Hayworth as a corrupt RINO. Turns out the Tarrance Group received a nice bundle of money from McCain's campaign account earlier this year to finance "survey research." Oops!
McCain also called up his buddies at the Arizona Republic to run an editorial the other day sliming Hayworth.
He also signed off on one of his goons--and yes, his involvement in the matter is public record, per the Arizona Republic news report--, Grant Woods, a RINO who in 2004 considered defecting to the Democratic Party along with McCain, to run and complain to the FEC about alleged campaign finance reform law violations on Hayworth's part.
(Who wrote the campaign finance law again?)
Did I say she was, or are you just trying to connect dots that are not to be connected?
If it was only for the general election, I might understand.
But her PAC gave him funds for both the primary *and* the general elections.
Oh, and her PAC also gave Graham and Murkowski funds.
And this is all on the official record, so I can produce links if you want to examine them.
Better yet, take your group and support someone else. Perhaps Hunter, but we don't know exactly where he stands on current; pressing issues since he, unlike Palin, is hesitant to speak up.
Or even more fitting, join up with the AIP. It's tailor made for you jesters. You can all sit around admiring each others soft hands and convincing each other how smart you are.
What a pompous little jerk you are. You don't suffer fools? At your age? And you're running around here declaring that you can't support Sarah Palin?
We're all suffering you and your gang of anti-Republican Obama enablers who run around this board in CYA mode. Have some cheese.
Hey EV, what do you think? Is the AIP willing to go Coolidge on us here?
Again with the age slurs.
Don't you have something different to attack me with, or is your brain just too limited to process anything more than one line of ad hominem at a time?
We're all suffering you and your gang of anti-Republican Obama enablers who run around this board in CYA mode.
Is FR a Republican mouthpiece?
Rabscuttle385, I’m no paragon of virtue, so I’m not asking you to do anything. We live in a frustrating time for Conservatives, and it’s only natural for folks to blow off steam from time to time.
I do think you’ll be more effective, if you just shower folks with good arguments and facts. And for the most part, when I see your posts, that’s pretty much what you’re doing.
I will continue to give Palin more time to come around, but ultimately if she continues to miss the mark, I’ll have to re-evaluate my position. I won’t be happy about having to do so, but if it’s warranted, I will.
One thing that is generally missed, is that the government doubled it’s receipts under Reagan, despite decreasing taxes. The problem is, Congress spent like drunken sailors.
It was my hope that Republicans would cut the debt when they came into power. No such luck.
Yes, core principles are something the (R) party has lost sight off.
Go tea party. Grow and make the Republican leaders nervous as can be.
You aren't worthy of anything else. You're so predictable it's laughable...I told you a couple of days ago that you'd be coming out against Sarah Palin...voilà, here we are.
Is FR a Republican mouthpiece?
In 2012, it's Obama or a Republican...probably Palin, if she decides to run...and you're already attempting to undermine her support here. We all knew you'd do it...I guess the woman is so formidable to the dupes and closet libs around here that you needed a two-year head start.
Y'know, there once was a short story about an Emperor and his new clothes...the ones that didn't exist.
As I recall, it was a child who was the one to cry out "but the emperor has no clothes!"
You, unfortunately, would have been beating the living hell out of that boy for making you look like a fool, since you couldn't see the Emperor's invisible clothes but would know that admitting so would be tantamount to admitting that you're a fool.
I guess the woman is so formidable to the dupes and closet libs around here that you needed a two-year head start.
Formidable? In what way? In endorsing liberals just like McCain endorsed the Democrats and "their views and their philosophy" in 2004?
Compare
"I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent
and will do everything I can to support his reelection."
SARAH PALIN, 16 DEC. 2009
with
"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."
JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004
I dunno...maybe someone should go show Palin that 2004 quote from McCain and see if she still supports him "100 percent."
In 2012, it's Obama or a Republican...probably Palin, if she decides to run...and you're already attempting to undermine her support here.
I will undermine anyone who pushes RINOs and liberals.
So unless Palin shapes up and stops giving the green light to folks like Graham and McCain, I am not going to support her.
That I am not going to support Obama is a given.
(SNIP)In conclusion: you can take your RINO Party mugs, your witless insults, and your sliced cheeses and meats and shove them all right where the Sun doesn't shine, because if you think I'm going to support by default the very same party that just betrayed me...
YOU'RE WRONG
What Rabs said goes for me, too. Well, ok, it really isn't necessary to slice up the baloney first before you shove it.
Ya know Chunga ol’ pal, I haven’t seen someone get shredded up like that since that tiger got pissed off during Siegfried & Roy’s performance at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas.
Don’t mess with the tigers Chunga, you just got your ass handed to you.
Looks good on ya.
Sorry, I had a rather bad evening.
Sorry to hear that, my evening wasn’t so terrific either but today is another brand new day for waging war on RINOs and taking no prisoners.
Bamahead, also go look up the RINO ‘s who are getting money from Sarah Pac
Lindsay Graham, et al.
Sorry, I’m with Rabs on this.
“Read your post I referred to, or do you just wish to continue behaving like a fecking cretin?
Better yet, take your group and support someone else. Perhaps Hunter, but we don’t know exactly where he stands on current; pressing issues since he, unlike Palin, is hesitant to speak up.
Or even more fitting, join up with the AIP. It’s tailor made for you jesters. You can all sit around admiring each others soft hands and convincing each other how smart you are. “
Man! What a great intellectual refutation of Rabscuttles 2 long posts.
“Fecken cretin!
I must say, as a thinker you have no equal. Any more dirty names, insults, or non sequiturs you care to hurl? Or do you have something to say with more specificity? C’mon jla, show us how much intelligence and class you REALLY have!!
