Sure, they say they love the troops, but then why does Hollywood insist on making every American soldier the quintessential dirtbag in their movies? Why? The military represents the establishment, most members are very conservative and vote Republican and the snobbish, snotty Hollywood self important "elite" look down their noses at anyone who would be a part of a military of serfs, in their opinion. Yet the absolute opposite is true, ordinary Americans disapprove and look on with disgust at Hollywood and what it has come to mean. Gutter trash in expensive cars, clothes and homes. A classic example that money can not buy class.

Hollywood had its best year this year in terms of number of tickets sold. Many "ordinary Americans" seem to be buying the product.

I am a Cinethusiast myself, but can't even pretend to have any love for most of those in the industry. One of the reasons I oppose the draft is that such douchebags SHOULDN'T be allowed to embarrass the uniform.

How ironic. The ultimate symbol of evil to Hollywood is the Nazis. American soldiers fought against and helped defeat the Nazis. Now all of a sudden that is forgotten, and the army that helped defeat the Nazis is the most evil entity in existence.

Meanwhile the USSR, which was a totalitarian dictatorship that imprisoned and murdered millions of people over the years is lionized because, "well, they weren't perfect, but they fought the Nazis." I guess only Americans aren't allowed to be less than perfect.

As an aside, while one half of our armed forces were fighting the Nazis the other half were "oppressing" the Japanese because we didn't understand their quaint culture. It's a good thing liberal hero FDR didn't know those evil right wing military nuts were fighting the People's Republic of Japan or he would have put a stop to it.

Well, the movies that people are flocking to are not the movies Hollywood wishes the public liked. The hits for this year I believe are : New Moon, Blind Side, Harry Potter, Transformers 2, G.I. Joe.
Any soldiers in those movies were pretty much good guys.
