New York's famously garrulous senior senator, Chuck Schumer, got busted Wednesday for calling a female flight attendant the B-word aboard a US Airways flight from New York to Washington on Sunday.
Schumer was sitting next to protege Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, gabbing away on his phone, when a flight attendant told him to shut it down.
Schumer turned off his phone, and then argued with the attendant that he was allowed to talk while the cabin door is open. He lost.

Lonesome Rhodes: This whole country's just like my flock of sheep!
Marcia Jeffries: Sheep?
Lonesome Rhodes: Rednecks, crackers, hillbillies, hausfraus, shut-ins, pea-pickers - everybody that's got to jump when somebody else blows the whistle. They don't know it yet, but they're all gonna be 'Fighters for Fuller'. They're mine! I own 'em! They think like I do. Only they're even more stupid than I am, so I gotta think for 'em. Marcia, you just wait and see. I'm gonna be the power behind the president - and you'll be the power behind me
Sir, you are dead wrong!!! Take from this good source, once the flight crew airmen & attendants make the government and airline policy announcements in and throughout the cabin, that is the law. Senator Schumer should have been arrested by airport authorities in either DC or NYC. He violated both federal law and US Airways operation procedures. Calling the flight attendant a nasty name breaks no law. It does show what an egotistical bottom feeder this poor excuse for a human being is. God bless the Democrat Party and POTUS Barack Obama in their determined, evil quest to destroy the United States of America!!! How’s that for Hope & Change?????
>>I think the electronics limits on flights is crap, but he is right as far as I know, he can be on the phone while the door is open.<<
Yep.
He was merely stating a fact. Everybody is somebody’s b@@h.
>>Still doesnt give him the right to abuse the hired help.<<
Sometimes it is the hired help that starts it. Some, not all, flight attendants really can be real you-know-whats. Sometimes it is unreasonable enough to cause a reaction from people.
Of course, other times it is the passenger that is the problem.
Fact is, if the door was still open, he was right and she was premature in trying to enforce a “rule”.
They can only say “bitch” if referring to female dogs.
Apparently...
I can’t stand the bluetooth junkies, walking and talking like only crazy people used to do.
Had a guy a work with one always screwed in his ear. I told him, “You answer that damn thing when I’m talking to you and you’ll need both hands free.”
If they print the actual word, it minimizes the “gravity” of the un-pc-utterance by the “garrulous” senior putz from New York. And then, there’s no story, is there?
So, Gillebrand is now his “protege”, I see.
And as for the garrulous one, he should learn some manners as well as when to STFU.
What?
I flew the Constellation a few times, which I still think is one of the most beautiful planes ever built.
For all my disagreement with the late Sen. Kennedy, I once sat behind him in the underground transport of the Senate. He was talking with others and I noticed he always stood and let the others go in front of him and held the door open for them. No, they weren't in the service class, but it was still gracious, a sign of having been raised decently, at least in the area of manners.
At least he didn’t call her Hillary!
I agree. Somethings are learned just by observation growing up. No matter what character they display later on - those good qualities do linger. Holding the door, giving others the seat, allowing others to go first was what they did. Not as a show but it came natural because it was a part of them by what they witnessed early on.
I think the name was “Cullbert”
Shame on those 9/11 doomed passengers for breaking the rules. /s
Actually, they didn’t break the rules as another rule says in an emergency there are no rules. Literally.
Schumer is one of the biggest a-holes to ever disgrace the planet. Rent “Waco: Rules of Engagement” and see just what a disgusting jackass he is while he questions witnesses in a Congressional hearing on Waco. He has no sense of decency whatsoever.
Good for you...sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. If people aren’t made aware of how rude they are being, how are they ever going to know to change their rude behavior!
Although I find Chuck Schumer offensive when he is silent, he could have saved his opinion of the flight attendant's request for management rather than become verbally abusive.
Although a proper retort might have been "...and you are...a Senator!" (for those who know Othello), Schumer was out of line.
LOL...yeah...how many times is this word used just in an episode of South Park....
