Amid rumbling discontent, Democrats head for the exits
The Washington Examiner ^ | December 16, 2009 | Michael Barone

But it's interesting that when Massachusetts Democrat Michael Capuano, fresh from a second-place finish in the primary for Edward Kennedy's Senate seat, was asked to tell the Democratic caucus what he had learned on the campaign trail, he replied in two words: "You're screwed." How many of those listening decided that it would be a good idea to spend more time with the family after 2010?

“what he had learned on the campaign trail, he replied in two words: ‘You’re screwed.’”

He learned that in MASSACHUSETTS???

Maybe there’s a chance for a real blowout next November!

It’s not like he was beaten by someone to the right on the issues. Martha Coakley is about as leftist as you can get. Now, if Scott Brown should do the unthinkable and win in January then I would say the entire Democratic party is headed for comlete disaster.

Hey Cap, tell them to run against Dick Cheney like you did. It made you look crazy.

This is absolutely not the time to go around thinking this is in the bag.

Because the Democraps still have the majority of that "Hope and Change" Stimulus "Obama money" in their walking around cash bag.

Our local Rep, Dennis Moore, has announced his retirement. He knew the writing was on the wall, and he wanted to "retire" rather than be defeated.

Sure, seeing him defeated would have been awfully sweet, but as long as I can get rid of him, I'll take this face-saving move. G'bye, Dennis!

What did he mean, that Dems are screwed? Certainly not in MA. That incumbent members of Congress are in trouble? If he found that out in MA then it might be bad news for the Dems. It’s not as if hard line lefty districts like his are going to elect Republicans though.

Barone still thinks they can’t get the 41 they need to topple the Dems. But things can change. If he senses that Dems are in for bad year, he is probably right as he is the best.

And we all know the MSM will look the other way when the Dems start funneling stimulus money into Get out the Vote (I call it make up the vote) efforts, and vote buying activities.
