President Petraeus? Americans are primed for postwar peace
Washington Times ^ | 12/15/09 | Arnaud de Borchgrave

President Obama has scaled back the scope of the Afghan war, now about to enter its ninth year, to a limited military objective: Deny al Qaeda a safe haven. And since we are now told there are fewer than 100 al Qaeda terrorists in Afghanistan - the rest are in Pakistan's tribal areas - a three-way deal between the Karzai government, powerful warlords and Taliban chief Mullah Mohammad Omar would seem to be the better part of valor. After Iraq, we cannot afford another trillion-dollar war.

There’s a Petraeus for President site on Facebook — have a look. (Although I’ve heard that Petraeus is not interested, you never know!)

Americans are primed for postwar peace? Who said? The last postwar peace was in 1865. Since then it’s been one damn thing after another.

Petraeus? No, thanks. Saw him on one of Sunday shows. Since making MG, he said, he gave up voting, yet he sends subordinates to their deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If he wants to get elected he could challenge the usurper to release his documents, all of them. The 2008 stolen election was a bloodless coup by the left in the DNC. They, in power, are enemies of the State. Petraeus could be new Ike only if he could stand up to and expose this tyranny.

I respect GEN Petraeus, but I'm leery of casting my vote without knowing his economic policy. Most generals know next to nothing about capitalism and free markets.

Plus, they've gotten used to having their asses kissed for at least a decade.

Oh, so Fallon's the good guy according to your sources?

From your webpage:
"CNNs Kyra Phillips and Barbara Starr contributed to this report.

No thanks.
