What is a paisanos?
Even at the Battle of the Bulge on Christmas eve the German and American soldiers joined in singing Christmas carols.
2. a fellow countryman
I think it also a name for a roadrunner.
This article seems to be talking in code.
What are they trying to avoid saying?
Every year at Christmas, hoards of Mexicans, legal and illegal, cross the border back into Mexico to visit their friends and family. This is what they are talking about.
The way they are using it, it means something like countrymen, but it really means peasants or peons.
Why in hell would they be using a well known Italian term for this?
Ya go to love the state run media.
That particular state-run media is owned and operated out of Mexico. Hence the paisano: their countrymen. And “paisano” is a word in Spanish, too. Two romance languages, one word for peasant!
Oh right...I forgot, paisano is a well known term for friend in Mexico....lol...
Did ya hear Houston has a new conservative mayor, with great family values and morals, that happens to be gay?
Hey, that's what I heard! Bet she runs against a paisano next time!
Beep-beep!
chapparal...road runner
Paisano doesn’t mean friend, it means someone from the same place. Heard about Houston. I think her opponent will be black.
No it does not..it means friend.
“Mi paisano” means someone from my town, or my locality. No significa amigo, necesariamente. But your paisano can be your friend, as well. And paisano means countryman. Amigo is friend, or compadre if there is that kind of relationship.
Yes...and thank you for a more informed reply than mine..I am a gringa. Therefore my knowledge of same was obviously limited. I appreciate the information.
Thanks
Thanks
Oh I see....Kinda like Homie? Homeboy?
Or do they have to be natives of the town to use the term paisano?
These hairs are becoming mighty thin..
