Fetus found in gift box, couple charged
Nine News ^ | December 15, 2009

A south Texas couple put an aborted 7-month-old fetus in a gift box under a Christmas tree after they were unable to flush the remains down a toilet, authorities allege.

Ruby Lee Medina, 31, and Javier Gonzalez, 37, of Mission, were charged on Monday with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Their bonds were set at $US20,000 ($A21,820) each.

San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez said police found the fetus inside the woman's trailer home on Thursday after getting an anonymous tip.

Autopsy results are pending but Gonzalez said police believe the woman used pills to induce an abortion on Thursday, then called an ambulance after she began bleeding and told doctors she didn't know where the fetus was.

The police chief said the couple tried to flush the fetus down the toilet but that didn't work.

"Apparently they cleaned up the fetus and they placed it inside a gift box under the Christmas tree," the police chief said.

Hope they don’t ever have kids because Medina has damaged her reproductive system beyond repair from that abortion.

A 7 month gestational age human is not a fetus. It’s a BABY. I was a NICU nurse for 10 years. A 7 month preemie was quite easy to stabilize with minimal medical intervention if there were no complicating factors such as maternal addiction or birth defects.

Oh, easily. I was born in 1966 six weeks early with no complications...eight or nine weeks early nowadays is nothing.

These two need to be looking at murder charges because THAT BABY WAS VIABLE.

“What ‘mother’ and ‘father’ would put an aborted fetus inside a gift box under a Christmas tree?”

From the names given in the article, I’d say Mexicans.

Is an aborted fetus a gift from Santa?

Let's rearrange the letters a little bit:

An aborted fetus is a gift from Satan.

I am always a loss to understand the position of accepting that a person has a rght to kill a baby and then charge the person wih a crime on the disposal of the victim!

Sorry, YOU need to be less selective in your kooky-meter settings.

Those links are garbage. Pure garbage. I’m sick and tired of these “Christmas is pagan” tinfoilisms, posted by stupid people who claim to be Christians. There isn’t a shred of evidence for this crap.

Santa Claus was derived from Saint Nicholas by the Knickerbocker Club in New York who, recognizing that the Puritan Christian kooks who lived by this “Christmas is Pagan” crap had deprived Americans of a religious Christmas holiday, invented an Americanized version of classic Christmas.

Saint Nicholas is one of the oldest Christian traditions—a bishop in what is now Turkey in the 300s who attended the Council of Nicea which all non-kook Christians accept as authoritative.

Christmas as a holiday is so Christian and religious as to be capable of having REPLACED pagan holidays. The fallacy in these Kooks’ reasoning is they think that if a Christian holiday falls on the date of a pagan holiday the Christian holiday becomes pagan.

Stoooooooooppppppiiiiiid. Did it ever occur to these Kooks that the most Christian and religious thing one could do would be to place an irreducibly CHRISTIAN holiday smack dab on a former pagan holiday? That thereby one could eliminate the pagan holiday???????? And that this is a smart thing to do if you want to ELIMINATE PAGANISM????

I repeat, this is kookery because the reasoning behind it is 100% inverted. The very thing they use to claim that Christmas is a pagan holiday from Satan

is the most compelling argument proving that Christmas is a CHRISTIAN HOLIDAY FROM HEAVEN.

Hey, I acknowledge that Chritmas is a wholly Christian holiday.

But from a historical perpective, I find it fascinating that paganism and Christianity overlapped for a period, only to have Christianity overwhelm paganisn and yet adopt some very minor paganistic trappings. It's not an attack on your religion, but merely an interest in history that drives me.

If the “Christmas is pagan” kooks were interested in history they’d have nothing to tinfoil about. It’s because they so ignore history that they can invent this stuff. They are operating out of religious kookery. Not kooks because they are religious but kooks because of stupid religious thinking.

So be fascinated by the fact that Christians chose to locate their holidays on pagan holidays if you wish. But don’t defend the tinfoil links that were posted here under the guise of historical interest. That’s not good historical thinking.

If you want to explore the way Christians deliberately and intelligently located their holidays on pagan holidays in order to drive out paganism, there’s plenty of good historical resources available.

But why defend these links??????????????? As my momma always said, “stop encouraging them. They’re only doing it for the attention.”
