Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) and Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) sparred sharply on the Senate floor Monday evening, a departure from the usually dormant speeches in the august chamber.
Franken said he was struck by a speech in which he said Thune had refused to highlight when benefits to the health care bill would kick in and instead emphasized the negative parts of the bill.
You know, again, we are entitled to our own opinions, were not entitled to our own facts, Franken said, his booming voice rising. And in a reference to a chart Thune held up, Franken said: If youre going to hold up a chart that says when taxes kick in and when benefits kick in, you say 1,800 days, you better include the benefits that do kick in right away.

I knew his true nature would come bubbling back up.
Expect to soon see such antics on a weekly, if not daily basis.

He sounds like the blowhard at the school committee meeting who reads stuff out of The Nation, and everyone groans when he gets up to talk.

I don’t think he is dumb as freepers think he is. He actually stumped an insurance lobbyist witness with the question how many personal bankruptcy occur in France due to medical bills. The lobbyists did not know or wasn’t sure so she went into the boilerplate response when the answer was none. What she should have pointed out to Sen Franken is that though there is no personal bankruptcies in socialist medical care, the Europeon system is facing bankruptcies as people live longer and the high taxes discourage large families which are required to keep the system financed.

You know, again, we are entitled to our own opinions, were not entitled to our own facts, Franken said,...Except in books that you write about conservatives.
And in elections in Minnesota.

What she should have said to diaper boy is that his question is irrelevant as France is no the U.S. and therefore their is no rational reason to ask a question about Bankruptcy in France. If that is something that concerns you i would suggest that you run for elective office in Rheims, and stop reaming the American public with your fascism, douche!

Mr. Thune, you should not try to have an intellectual argument with an unarmed opponent.

Sounds like Franken is Politicos new hero. Like many liberals he also plagiarizes others. That " ... not entitled to your own facts" comment was one Daniel Patrick Monyhan made, I think. I know someone did.
