WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Winchester Ammunition was recently awarded a contract by the Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) division of the Department of Homeland Security to supply a maximum of 200 million, 40 cal. rounds over the next five years.
The load selected for this contract is a 135-grain, hollow point designed for the office of Field Operations of Customs and Border Protection. It will fall under the Winchester Ranger line.
When you want what you hit to stay down permanently.
All of my boxes from Olin say Made in the USA.
Are these HP’s illegal in places like NJ where civilians cannot use them?
If not, why not?
(if they are banned bc they are cop killer bullets, then the cops shouldn’t be using them either!)
I wish somebody would make a wood-tone grip clip! Well, it is an unusual pistol.
If anybody has done that “high power 9mm” trick in a CZ-52, I’d like to hear how it worked. It sounds clever. You might also be able to ream that 9mm barrel a tad and shoot 9mm largos or other longer 9mm cases through it.
I saw a youtube film of a Border Patrol agent shooting a violent invader with his 5.56mm M-4-type carbine, loaded with hollow points.
I think it was taken from a camera on a pole.
Amazingly quick one-shot-drop. “Explosive” almost. Of course, you can’t make too much of one incident, but it was impressive. Clearly not a through-and-through “ice pick” wound such as those our troops complain of with the FMJ slugs.
Yep, only hits count! I knew .22 target pistol champs who never needed anything else, since they could put them through your ear or eye rapid fire if they wanted to.
Why do they need ammo? I understand they aren’t allowed to fired their weapons.....
“I wonder how many of those rounds will end up piercing the bodies of anti-0bama protesters at some future time.”
Exactly what I thought. Knowing this administration, I don’t think this ammo is aimed at Mexicans.
“Im thinking that this is destined for Obamas Civilian Defense Force. hes using Homeland Security to temporarily hold the stuff until he can wage war against those who voted against him.”
I think you have him pegged accurately.
I forgot about all that...I wonder what they did with all those punch cards. disgusting disregard for the taxpayers.
Our NY gov just announced he is cutting payments to schools, hospitals, towns by 10%. The UNIONS are whining majorly and saying “we’ll sue!” If the money isn’t there, it isn’t there!
My favorite hanload is a 40cal 155gr Gold Dot at 1250fps. Mean little sucker.

To begin with, gubmint should not have guns; let alone ammo...
Given current guns/ammo sales to the public, certainly not now when these are becoming scarce. Everyone—gubmint included—must do our part and do without!
;)
My own tests long ago revealed what the FBI's own results showed (and which I only learned of later) and that was the 180gr was overall best against everything from clothing to wallks to vehicle glass. CCI's Gold Dot 180gr does the trick for me and my Sig P229.
I wonder if this smaller bullet isn't loaded up really hot to make up for the difference in mass. Probably is, to some extent. And I read recently that Winchester and Hornady (I think) have both come up with *new and improved* loads for this caliber -- I wonder if this ammo is this new stuff.
I am convinced that the economy has a lot to do with fewer sales. The desire to stock up is still there for many, just not the financial means.
I am not comfortable with ammo stock and have maintained my New Years resolution “box a week” average although the urge to buy more is restrained by finances only.
When Obowzo gets his Brown Shirts funded next year, they'll need a lot of ammo.
This is how Obowzo's new best friends, the Chicoms, handled THEIR "problem" citizens:
The original pins are cast iron, and brittle. Got my steel replacement here:

J&G also sells ‘em, a bit cheaper I think.
