A wealthy British businessman was jailed for more than two years on Monday for attacking an intruder who was part of a three-man masked gang that broke into his home.
Munir Hussain, who was threatened at knifepoint and tied up in his living room last year, was told he must go to prison for 30 months to preserve "civilized society."
The man he attacked, Walid Salem, was allowed to go free and has since returned to a life of crime. Salem, who has 50 convictions, was unable to stand trial on a charge of false imprisonment apparently because of the injuries Hussain inflicted.

who found a rifle on a railroad track, then took it to the police. He was then thrown in jail for possession of a firearm...Totally crazy.

Here’s what I propose. We close our bases in the European theatre and have one final mission to rescue all the hot chicks from the muslim infested European countries. If the men are too much of pansies then let the muslims slaughter them.
I keep hoping that the UK population will at some point rise up and start tarring and feathering these jerks. There is such a disconnect between the interests of the regular citizen and those of the elites that I see such a breakdown as inevitable.

For career criminals, it's apparently convictions without consequence in Great Britain.
But if you're a law-abider and you lose it because a career criminal who should be in jail breaks into your home and threatens your life, it's 30 months in the slammer.

Hilary Neville, for the prosecution, said, “What started as reasonable self defence by Munir Hussain then turned into excessive force by virtue of a sustained attack by Munir, Tokeer and at least two others.”
now what? they chase the thief, catch him, and then, having him outnumbered and apprehended....proceed to beat him with “a cricket bat or a metal pole.”
if all this is true...if...it is all true...i agree with the judge...reasonable self defense became an aggrevated assault (by at least 4 against 1) and the participants were then apprehended and tried and found guilty of that assault.
i find nothing wrong with this picture...remember, 4 to 1, suspect is apprehended and subdued, then mercilessly beaten with a bat or pole...it would have been proper to restrain the suspect, and have the police take over from there.

So, they chased him down; apprehended him...THEN proceded to beat him with a club, pole, &/or cricket bat.
I fully understand the reaction, but what they did, in essence, was “Rodney King” him, before turning him over to the cops.
How often are we reminded here that we in the U.S. are not allowed to run after, and shoot, a fleeing criminal, since ‘that is no longer self defense’?
Tell me how this is different, especially since it happened in the criminal coddling UK.
Once you break into someone’s HOME, it should not be expected that a good outcome will come of it.
Period. And of story.
Anyone who states otherwise is in fact defending thugs.
