ClimateGate Research Unit Disables Its Website By Noel Sheppard Created 2009-12-14 10:03
The Climatic Research Unit at the heart of the ClimateGate [0] scandal has taken down most of the information previously available at its website.
Prior to November's release of controversial e-mail messages and documents from Britain's University of East Anglea, there was a separate website for the institution's CRU that allowed readers to review articles and studies created by and for the Unit.
Now, no matter what link one tries to access via a Google search, it directs you to a page that reads: "Due to the present high volume of visitors to this page, you will shortly be directed to the latest news about CRU on the main University of East Anglia website, or you can go there immediately by clicking on this link [1]."
Once there, readers are exclusively offered the follow:
CRU Statements
* Sir Muir Russell to head the Independent Review into the allegations against the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) [2]
Today the University of East Anglia (UEA) announced that Sir Muir Russell KCB FRSE will head the Independent Review into allegations made against the Climatic Research Unit (CRU). Read more [3]

As such, you can now only retrieve statements from CRU concerning the current controversy, but NOT information and data related to it.
For instance, as Anthony Watts reported [10] moments ago, you can no longer retrieve information about Keith Briffa's tree ring data which is so crucial to the whole manmade global warming myth.
In fact, the following links available at Google all redirect to the CRU Statements page:
* Climatic Research Unit [11] * Index of /cru [12] * Temperature Trends: Surface (CRU) [13] * Data available from CRU [14] * About the Climatic Research Unit [15] * CRU information sheets [16]
Some pages don't redirect at all. Temperature Trends: Surface (CRU) [17] goes to a page that says, "Sorry, but the page you requested does not exist."
As for the idea that this is because of "the volume of visitors," Watts noted, "[I]f indeed 'traffic' is a concern, redirecting to another page on the UEA server system doesnt do much for the load, it just moves it around."
Will global warming-obsessed media that have been either ignoring or downplaying ClimateGate notice what's happened at the website of the CRU in the middle of this scandal, and if they do, how will they report it?
Stay tuned.
Thanks,...added some keywords to that thread...good stuff!
Obviously there is no evidence to support the deniers any longer.
Nothing to see here, move along.
ClimateGate marches on!
Dilbert posted: “This is too funny. Now the website is down. They are scrubbing the site of incriminating information. How special.”
The first time, I and probably most of us saw the enviro scrubbing and eliminating websites was during their Klamath Falls fiasco in 2001, when FR and many Freepers helped to stop heir planned economic destruction of farmers and ranchers in the Klamath River area to save a slimy and worthless fish.
We would find data on their sites that was often criminal in nature and post links to those sites. After a few weeks of this they started scrubbing their sites and sometimes eliminating them
Later that same year, there were a lot of forest fires due to their insane no logging, no clearance of brush/weeds and the closing of fire access roads. Some sites even praised how so called wildfires cleansed the forests.
Again, when we posted this data, the info site, would often disappear or the entire site would be scrubbed.
And they are still trying to hide the decline! Too much lol!
Fudge the decline. It is peer-reviewed science!
Is this that “chill wind” that Tim Robbins was talking about years ago? ;)
Libs often tell me to “look at the science”.
It’s kind of funny because there is no science to look at - these guys deleted their information years ago.
snicker snort....lmao.........who has the popcorn???? LOL!
During RealClimate’s start-up I had a couple of genial give-and-takes with Gavin in the comments. Mann OTOH is a know-nothing prick, and his Schadenfreudic under-investigation status right now is off-the-scale enjoyment.
Bump what goes around comes around.
Splish splash I was takin a bath, along about a Saturday nite... How was I ta know there was a party goin on... I was a rockin an a reelin, justa movin with the feelin...
