“One of the most important posts of the year, Im thinking.”
...absolutely!...and little chance of this article being run in MSM...I remember Hentoff back in the 1960s was the quintessential East Coast Jewish liberal intellectual...when a guy like that expresses dismay with Obama, it means something.
To: markomalley
Hentoff on Obama: “the guy is a phony.”
Last week we had Tina Brown, the queen of the elite press, say about Obama: “I think he doesn’t believe a word he says.”
Freepers have long known that Zero is nothing more than a con man (like his father.) Slowly reality is penetrating the thick skulls of the MSM.

Obama seems to have no firm principles that I can discern that he will adhere to. His only principle is his own aggrandizement. This is a very dangerous mindset for a president to have. Hentoff tells it like it is - about dema - and Republicans.
My mental picture of Hentoff is a strong man with a sword standing in front of the Constitution. Hentoff and Sowell are the last of the great defenders ...

One of the most important posts of the year, Im thinking.Nat Hentoff is a national treasure. One of the few remaining nationally known figures who isn't afraid of speaking his mind. We may no agree with him at all times (I don't), but he has a real sense of what is wrong with America today. His voice should be heard across the land.

In the old days of FreeRepublic people would find “gems” like this and share them with the rest of us. Now too many put a word in a search engine and do a “dump”. Thanks for a post worth reading...

Less than 3% of high school students can pass the immigration test while over 90% of people from foreign countries can pass it. The questions are simplesuch as, "What is the supreme law of the land?" or "Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?" Civic education in the United States is basically dead. Hentoff's NEXT book must be "Basic Civics for High Schoolers" or some such title. Even if it's only used by homeschoolers, it would keep our dreams for freedom alive...

I got this by way of a recurring search engine RSS subscription dumped to an RSS aggregator. (By the way, the search term was Arne Duncan, of all things)
(Of course, I don't post everything that comes up on that)

I don't believe that was a death panel. It was done to get the Medicare doctors to not spend too much money on them. Sir, that is what a death panel does. It tells people that their lives are worthless and everybody would be better off if they were dead.
IMHO it is more evil then if they had just slipped them a fatal drug because you are killing their spirit and soul. And when this evil is mandated you are killing the humanity of the person you order to do it.
