The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19.

Today is the second straight day that Obama’s Approval Index rating has fallen to a new low. Prior to the past two days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama’s time in office (see trends).

I seriously doubt that they anticipated approval ratings that paint an almost perfect “X” type of chart with both lines trending a near linear fashion. IMO the ideologues in the White House misread the election as a mandate, and they’re just now finding out how wrong they were.

Rasmussen’s numbers are based on a 3 day average and include the speech on jobs, and the Peace prize. Also if health care fails his numbers go DOWN because even though it is mostly unpopular it represents a FAILURE for him and his Party because he backed it.

Now if health care fails to pass, O’s ratings go up and so do those of Congress. Those increased ratings will not avert losses next November but it will take the political tsunami off the table.

I tend to agree to an extent - there are those that voted for O and who now oppose his policies; yet should healthcare, cap&trade fail, some of them will feel sorry for the monumental efforts exerted by their elected representatives. They are that soft.

On the other hand, the record low approval rating now is going to help bring those failures about. I cannot believe a number of Senators and many Reps aren't re-adjusting their support of these measures at this very moment, looking for one issue in the bills to take a stand against and give them cover.

The “Bush like” speech probably does little to help him with conservatives. For as much as it does help, the crazy lefties are abandoning him for not ending the wars as he committed to on the campaign. If health care goes down in flames, as it increasing looks like it will, he will get the blame. Watch out below! on his ratings then.

The RATS have absolutely got to get the population to where 51% no longer pay income tax and they are home free forever. This is why Obamacare is the jewel of the current crooks running D.C. - they already have 48%+ of the population OFF the federal tax rolls. Give those other two or three percent FREE health care and Obama can be KING for life.
