With the House having passed its $1 trillion dollar-plus heath care bill and the Senate poised to approve its own $850 billion version as early as Christmas, a broad rewrite of Americas health care system encompassing nearly 20% of the U.S. economy could be close at hand.
If the Senate approves its version, which is expected given the Democrats 60-seat majority, the package will have to be merged with legislation approved last month by the House. But similarities between the two bills are starting to emerge.
Here, David M. Drucker of the newspaper Roll Call provides a rundown of what the final bill will likely include, while Michael D. Tanner, a Cato Institute senior fellow and co-author of Healthy Competition: Whats Holding Back Health Care and How to Free It, provides perspective on what those changes mean for you:

For me it means early retirement and opening a quilt shop. BTW I am typing this from work at 0400 my time. I wonder if any of the congresscritters who are ruining my life are up (doing anything mildly productive at least) I’m sure Obama is sleeping soundly as well.

Here’s what it’s going to do - the same people who are on the âgettinâ sideâ of government - will be âgettinâ moreâ. The same people who have to pay for the chronically dependent, will have to pay more.
What this is telling me is that we are going to spend TRILLIONS, of primarily borrowed money and increased taxation, to have millions of people still uninsured with the prospect of millions more losing their current coverage only to thrown in to a “government exchange?”

Ask her how she will like her 20% pay cut. That is if her position is not eliminated altoghether!
