...Yes, emails came from here - but we didn't do it, say Russians
...when the warmest for 1,300 years claim was published in 2007 in the IPCCs fourth report, the doubters kept silent.
... the full context of that trick email, as shown by a new and until now unreported analysis by the Canadian climate statistician Steve McIntyre, is extremely troubling.
...Briffa changed the way he computed his data and submitted a revised version. This brought his work into line for earlier centuries, and cooled them significantly
...Any scientist ought to know that you just cant mix and match proxy and actual data, said Philip Stott, emeritus professor of biogeography at Londons School of Oriental and African Studies.
Theyre apples and oranges. Yet thats exactly what he did.

“The thing is that Russia does have nafarious intentions with these emails. The Russians are DEMANDING about 500 billion dollars worth of carbon credits to go along with the treaty, as well as an exemption.”
That’s why this makes NO sense. Why would the Russians want to derail the global warming movement?
If the Russkies couldn’t sell their oil, they would collapse.
Bump & Bookmarked.
CRU needs to stay off of the nefarious porno sites.
> So long as a carbon trading scheme creates salable credits from lower CO2 emissions than 1990 levels, Russia would have a motive to keep the AGW myth propped up.
That’s the rub, though. I hear tell that there might have been efforts by the world body to strip Russia of those carbon credits, since they reduced carbon not through technological advance or even government diktat, but rather because their economy collapsed.
Maybe the emails are the threat, with more on the way if the world warmists* doesn’t cave to their 1990 carbon-credit levels.
*perhaps I should call them “cooks” instead of “warmists”, since that’s what they do to scientific data.
I call it “Scheisse-nce”
I suppose others have speculated about the hacked emails being an “inside” job and it’s beginning to appear more and more to me that Keith Briffa may have felt dumped on by his bud, comrade Jones. Briffa certainly seems from most accounts be a voice of reason during the whole debate and called for moderation and caution when applying his data. Maybe Briffa and McIntyre decided to surreptitiously join forces and bring the foolishness to an end???
Bump for later reading.
>as well as an exemption.
How nice for them! Wish we had such moxie!
It has served its purpose. The West is now unprepared for prolonged Solar Cooling. Russia will now move to control the world via the energy resources under its command or soon to be under its command. The US is hamstrung with environmental laws and cannot access its own resources. The collapse of the West is imminent. In fact, only real AGW could save us now, ironically.
Bite me, you Vogon. The most recent Hadley CRU email is from NOVEMBER 2009, not "ten years ago."
Oh, and the center of the earth is NOT millions of degrees.
Cheers!
Das Vidonia..
Good point. They're not that stupid.
From what I've read, the IP in question came up on a web proxy server list, whether intentional or not, at the same time the files were leaked.
Also notice that UEA, for all their blustering about a "hacked" file, hasn't come up with any determination of the culprit yet.
The Daily Mail has probably printed here the most honest and thorough synopsis of climategate to date. They should be commended.
Shouldn't that now read,"...formerly of the New York Times..."?
