I am sure this was completely staged and Shatner was well prepared to deliver all the amused and dead-pan expressions.
That said, Sarah did a terrific job...and so did Shatner!

I am sure this was completely staged Agreed. What that tells us is that Conan & Co. knew what they were doing, which was to give Sarah Palin a platform from which to illustrate how she has been treated by the media. Shatner's "quotes" from her book were typical of what the media does to Palin on a regular basis. By having her do the same thing to Shatner's book, she shows everybody what a stupid trick it is.
Somebody on that show likes Palin. I suspect it might be Conan himself. |

If you've ever actually heard Shatner do 'Mr. Tambourine Man'... I can understand Carson's reaction... mine was like a mental pain that made it impossible for me to have rational thoughts while that... uh, "performance"... was in progress.
If they had used that recording at Gitmo, then I would have had to side with liberals regarding torture methods.

"I am sure this was completely staged and Shatner was well prepared to deliver all the amused and dead-pan expressions."I read where during rehersals the audience was sent out while Sarah did her rehersal so it would be a complete surprise to them. I don't know if Shatner knew or not.
