WASHINGTON — With a Nobel Peace Prize in hand, President Barack Obama returned to the grind of governing, refocusing on his top domestic priority as the Senate moves toward a pivotal moment on legislation to remake the nation's health care system.
Obama arrived Friday from Norway after becoming the first chief executive to collect the storied award so early in his tenure. He blitzed through his Nobel itinerary, then met privately with U.S. embassy staff at his hotel in Oslo before returning to a huge agenda hanging in the balance, including health care and another European trip next week for a climate summit.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is working privately to secure support among Senate Democrats for a tentative deal to expand the government' role in health care. The potential breakthrough in the long health care debate was reached Tuesday, and Democrats are driving for a final vote before Christmas. The House already has passed its bill.
Obama's goal — to expand coverage to those without it, improve it for those who do and rein in the crushing costs of health care — remains at the core of his political efforts. Congress has spent months trying to get out a bill that satisfies its own blocs and Obama.

When BHO comes home with his Nobel False Peace Prize, he'll be helping to enact ObamaDeathCare in Congress today.
Another thing: Obama does not have the same sense of courage, leadership and patriotism as General George S. Patton Jr., who helped command his Third Army to the defeat of Germany's Wehrmacht.
For being awarded the Nobel False Peace Prize, Obama would have commanded the entire U.S. Army and Marines in Afghanistan to defeat like his Vietnam era forebear Lynchin' SOB Johnson.
Yeah, destroying a 200+ year old democracy is hard work indeed.
pick up the peace prize and destoy the United States of America...
that is a full working day!!
“Hard Work” and “Obama” in the same sentence? Never before and never again, I’m sure.
Maybe she would prefer wearing one of these...she has the build for it and it fits her style...
Nobama is bent on redistribution of wealth. Did you ever notice that it isn’t his wealth? How much is Nobama and his hard-working wife worth? Are there documents somewhere or at least estimates? All this “public service” and he must be a rich person indeed. I pray for the Republic, for America, for freedom and for capitalism.
Which is typically WHY he leaves town.
Right.
Back to the golf course it is.
Although I’m from the land of Oz, I know that praying for the Republic, for America, for freedom and for capitalism, would now be futile. Obama has been doing the irreparable damage to your beloved nation and his successor would drive in the final nails in the coffin.
What a fraud this whole thing is. He should be embarrassed.
(his escort’s boob belt says it all)
I would be so embarrased to come home with an award I know I didn’t deserve.
But, then the Obamas don’t seem to mind having to make up stuff nearly every day to make them seem relevant.
What a classless joke these two have turned out to be. Just think they involved their children in this. How could he accept an award he knows he didn’t deserve in front of them and his wife allowed it?
So sad.
You can apply this to pretty much every "accomplishment" in the Kenyans life.
Yes, he seems to be the Forrest Gump of politics.
He seems to have a talent for being in the right place at the right time. Like Forrest Gump.
These days a Nobel Peace Prize plus a roll of Charmin is worth...... less than one roll of toilet paper.
b/c while you still have the Charmin to use, the NPP is a disgrace to humanity....
Barack’s Nobel is worth less than Michelle’s current Steelers team!!
at least we know she’s not a fair-weather fan, considering the kind of season they’re having...... unless she doesn’t even know about it (5 straight losses etc.) and is just wearing the jacket b/c someone told her it’s cool.....
