The Vatican under Pope Benedict XVI has been trying to stress its belief that there is no incompatibility between faith and reason.

And then we have The Word of The Lord.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (reasoning)

Hebrews 11:6.
"Without faith it is impossible to please God."

Settled. Faith and reasoning is NOT compatible.

"Settled. Faith and reasoning is NOT compatible."

Thanks for clearing that up.

“Settled. Faith and reasoning is NOT compatible.”

THAT is an absurd statement. Man’s ability to reason and understand is the greatest gift GOD has bestowed upon humans. Reason is what leads to faith, and vice-versa.
Moses bargained with GOD, as did Abraham.
Without faith and understanding, we would be like the dumb beasts of the earth. BOTH are necessary. GOD comes not to tell you to put a coat on if it is cold outside.
In fact GOD has admonished man to learn and UNDERSTAND what he has learned because until the day we have the understanding GOD seeks from us, we can never go beyond this place. WHY would GOD teach you anything at all if you could not reason and understand?
Faith leads to understanding.

Eyov, (JOB,) 41

1
Then Job answered HaShem, and said:
2
I (NOW) know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no purpose can be withholden from Thee.
3
Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I uttered that which I understood not, things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
4
Hear, I beseech Thee, and I will speak; I will demand of Thee, and declare Thou unto me.
5
I had heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now mine eye seeth Thee;

BUT NOW, MINE EYE SEETH THEE.
