How bout dingle berry? Just like latinos like to put around the windows of their custom cars. I kinda like those dingle berries. I know I’m not using the right term, but I dont’ know what the correct one is.
Maybe there is just more of your posts to love. ;-)
Seems that there were many fewer different species in the past in that particular genus ~ about the same number as today.
What is different is that some of the smaller varieties were bigger, some of the bigger varieties were smaller, some of the dark horses were lighter, and some of the lighter horses were darker. (roughly what they report).
What that means is that VARIATION WITHIN SPECIES is rather dominant among horses and horselike animals within that genus.
No doubt some of the CREO folks might like to read that article in full. No doubt some of the EVO folks OUGHT to read that article in full.
Just another instance of further scientific research using facts rather than presumptions leads to unanticipated conclusions ~ oh, yeah, another point they made is that human beings and horses share a tremendous number of the SAME GENES.
I have, however, been exoriated for holding beliefs not in the majority here.
Have you seen this thread yet?
So an entirely new species would not be created, they would just be genetically incompatible with others? I mean they would still be a robin and an owl, but adapted for their environment, right? You said “What visible changes might accompany those changes would depend on how different the survival traits optimized for the island were from the survival traits optimized for the mainland.”
That is adaption, right? It is not a robin turning into an entirely new creature. Just a genetically adapted to the environment robin.
“Significant because the rights given by the Creator cannot be taken away by anyone but the One who gave them.
If our rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness dont come from the Creator, then who/what do they come from?”
Well stated! Consider that after World War ll the allies wanted to prosecute the Nazi war criminals. However, in regards to killing the jews and concentration camps and all, it was a fact that those were legal acts within the laws of the government of Germany. The men who carried out those horrific acts were literally abiding by the law of the land. It was decided that they would be tried under “Natural Law” which is basically replication of what God’s laws are. Natural Law transcends man made laws. This includes the right to life, hence the Nuremberg trials were able to proceed on a legal basis that made sense.
I think today, we have lost the legitimacy of recognizing God’s Law and are suffering for it. Just as the Germans did.
That has been my personal reality for most of my life.
Don’t have one.
But I suppose we could rest on the “well, my theory doesn’t work, but hey at least I got one!”
Hey CG, long time no read. Merry Christmas
- tuning out the criticism ~ There, what was it you meant?
Uh, that’s what Darwin found on the Galapogos Islands.
Just Read 150 Posts and Can’t find ONE!
what I see on here is a lot of nasty talk from people about people who believe in evolution
Have a Nice Day !
Yes! I don’t believe that modern animals were zapped here out of the sky, but I also don’t think we all evolved from bacteria or whatever.
Same here. I even carry my card.
I want global warming. It’s been so freezing lately we haven’t had running water for days.
Yay Global warming - I want some!
Nope. No problem with criticism. Helps me learn. Has to be informed criticism.
Oh my - this clears up a lot - THANK YOU!
I wholeheartedly support fundamental Christian values and morals. They are the foundation of our country. And I say this as a devout, practicing Hindu. I do not in any way feel unwelcome on FR.
(BTW Jim, finally sending my money order tomorrow for my pledge - sorry I’m late!)
I hate to break it to you, but most of the cells in your body ARE bacteria, and you couldn’t survive without them.
