While the wizards of smart are convening in Copenhagen, attempting to solve what they perceive to be the biggest global societal ill - anthropogenic climate change, one of the things that likely won't be discussed is the possibility of the opposite occurring, global cooling.
But AccuWeather's chief hurricane forecaster, Joe Bastardi warns it is a bigger threat than global warming. He says the phenomenon is coming, based on three priniciple reasons - 1) Natural reversal of ocean cycles, 2) Low sun spot activity and 3) An increase in volcanic and seismic activity. Bastardi made this case on the Fox Business Network's Dec. 11 "Imus in the Morning" program.
"I have something behind me here called the ‘Triple Crown of Cooling,'" Bastardi said. "I'm just as worried that in the next 30 years that we are going back into a period back in the early 1800s which was a mini-Ice Age. We have the natural reversal of the ocean cycles going on. We have very low sun spot activity, increased volcanic activity. I have to tell you something, after this winter in the eastern and southern part of the United States and in Europe - this winter here - a lot of people aren't going to want to hear about global warming because there's already signs that things are turning around."

I want to get in on the ground floor of the Global Cooling bandwagon.
I’ve said it time and time again, the AGW alarmists will be shrieking about human-caused climate change as the advancing glaciers scrape them off Manhattan Island.

They already anticipated “global cooling” (which was discussed a lot 35 years ago, but never got traction)
and absorbed it neatly into “Climate Change” , which has
been the mantra(with Global Warming put on the back burner, so to speak) since they figured they’d better cover their collective asses should their scam ever be uncovered.
BELIEVE ME, they will figure a way to integrate everything
they want to happen at the Copenhagen conference into a new, revised Global/Planetary Climatological picture with emphases on different, yet even MORE dangerously apocalyptic features: don’t ask me which ones, I am not that smart. I just know it will happen,though, yes,they HAVE had a little wind taken out of their sails.
Damn! - I was so looking forward to wearing short sleeve shirts & shorts year round for the next 20 - 30 years......
They will have to drop the “Sea is rising and New York will be flooded” bit though if the Hudson starts freezing over...:^)
No man knows the future, but my fear is that the Sun is becoming less active which will lead to a little ice age. Civilizations do not do well when it is cold and crops fail. The idiots in charge of this country apparently do not have the mental ability to recognize the dangers which really face us since they lust for control of our every activity.

I notice one benefit of the vicious cold/snow here in the midwest. The incidence of violent crime goes way down.

I’m more concerned with a Real Ice Age. In the past the warm periods have lasted 11,000 - 14,000 years in between the major glaciations. (Mile thick ice over Seattle type glaciations). We are at 10,000 - 11,000 for the current warm period.
