Given the conventional wisdom that elitist derision towards her only makes her supporters support her more adamantly, youd think savvy Beltway consultants who dont like her would keep that fact to themselves. And yet. Heres their answer to the question, Which voice in your party would you most like to mute?
Thats among political insiders, i.e. consultants. Among senators and congressmen polled, she finished second behind no one, tied with Michele Bachmann and Glenn Beck, among others. These insiders are the same people, mind you, who earlier this year voted her seventh among Republican governors with the brightest political future (Mark Sanford was fifth). No wonder she enjoys jabbing them with threats about going third-party.

I think that was certainly true toward the end. Possibly not earlier, although who knows?
Sarah speculates that when it became obvious that McCain was going to lose, a number of operators were preparing to jump ship, and at that point deliberately undermined him.
I don’t know. Stupid, or deliberate sabotage? The decision to go with two enemy interviewers for Sarah, and to give them the chance to cut and edit the sessions before going on the air with them, was clearly a mistake. Sarah knew it, but they went ahead anyway. It may have been that woman who wanted to do Couric a favor and didn’t give a damn about anything else—but why did her bosses approve it? Everyone here at FR KNEW that it was a mistake, even before the interviews took place. It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist, you’d think.
Still, it could be simply the Peter Principle at work—people being promoted beyond their abilities because of mutual back-scratching. It seems as if the upper ranks of the Republican apparat are filled with such people—just plain dumb and incompetent, since there’s surely more gravy to pass around if you win, even if you don’t give a damn about the country or your candidate.
All your points are plausible. I was thinking about toward the end it seemed they wanted Obama to win. But we the people have a right to know. The failure to inform the people about Preacher Wright and black liberation theology
and other despicle matters was not fair to the people.
What the heck is a "normal" Republican? Do we need any more evidence that the GOP is a collaborator with liberal fascism? Too many rank-and-file Republicans are wannabe elitists, posers aspiring to the aristocracy that comprises the elitist ruling class. The GOP is the biggest impediment to conservatism, a cesspool of collaboration and corruption. Freedom will be in danger as long as the GOP continues to exist.
I keep asking myself, what do these “insiders” know about Sarah Palin that I don’t???? Judging from the alacrity and viciousness of the attacks by the leftist media whores, I would say we have a downright rock-solid “winner” on our hands. So, c’mon you astute “insiders”, spill it or STFU. My “Sarah” pen is giving my fingers an awful “itch” - unlike the “limp” feeling I have long had from my “rnc” pen.
Well, when she became Governor of Alaska, one of the first things she did was decide who to keep and who to retire. And when a few of her people showed themselves to be troublemakers, she got rid of them.
I just think that these maggots do a kind of dance and keep promoting each other and scratching each others’ backs, until finally you get whole gangs of incompetents whose only interest is how much is in it for them.
Many politicians put up with it, because THEIR interests are similar—how many favors can I trade? Sarah’s not like that, as she demonstrated against the Good Old Boy network in Alaska. That’s why they fear her.
And so did my wife, who was a Democrat until 2004...
I don’t believe this...
Luckily, in a country like ours (we’re not totally a third world hellhole... yet) the elite’s votes don’t count anymore than our votes. So this is a total yawn.
GOP ‘insiders’...commies to the left of me; commies to the right...
