SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania restaurant co-owned by a state legislator has made just one partial payment in the last three years on a decade-old state loan. State Rep. Ken Smith is the co-owner of Smith's Restaurant in Scranton. Records show the business has not a made a full monthly payment on the loan since July 2006. That's two months after Smith won the Democratic nomination in the 112th District. Smith says the restaurant is a victim of the economic downturn. The $125,000 loan at 5 percent interest was made in 1998. The last partial payment was $1,000 last December. The president of the agency that controls the loan says he wants to collect the balance. Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance President Jeffrey Box says his agency is exploring its legal options.

Hmmmmmmmmm...must be one “H” of a lousey restaurant.
Effing crooks.....not much more can be said (without being banned!)
Hmmmmm...no mention of party affiliation.
Explains why PA has no money - except for RAT lawmakers. They got their pay raises; PUBs didn’t. This guy gets away with nonpayment while honest tapayers get squeezed more and more. People in PA should all write “Ken Smith rule” on their returns.

I’m surprised you missed it. It’s in the excerpt about midway.
Thanks...I did miss it...twice!
We ALL have days like that.
I was born and raised in PA and have lived away from there since late 80’s, and from a distance I see the festering sh*tpot it has become politically. Guys like Murtha, Rendel and all the morons in Philly have taken a once great commonwealth down to third world status. Nothing will change there or for the US until we purge these cretins and get on with a values based approach to government.
