Obama can sign whatever treaty he wants. It will not be binding until ratified, which it won’t be.

Remember, Clinton signed the Kyoto treaty and it went nowhere.

Just a follow up, I stumbled across this earlier whilst reading about COP15.

I have heard this over and over. polifactcheck.org spouts this. This congress has already basically signed off on this idea.

I hope you’re right but I doubt it.

It is 0bama risking all- politically and his EPA just usurped Congress and got away with it so I highly doubt he thinks he needs anything ratified. When he signs this thing, tell me will one person speak up and call him treasonous and call for hearings?

Hum ... is that really the case? It appears to me that Zero can use the EPA and his world-gov-sky-is-falling climate appointees to enact a whole lot by executive order. Remember, the EPA can (i) tax, (ii) fine, (iii) assess "fees".

Additional thought - who has "standing" to haul Zero in front of the Supreme Court? Zero has already stated that he believes the US Constitution is flawed ... he advertises that he is a "constitutional expert" (/barf alert)

Question - could Zero get away with sending TARP "left overs" to Copenhagen?

Finally, will Europe let the USA off the hook once Zero signs? (After all, Zero wants only to be "loved") (/sarc)

It is a long article you probably missed this part.

Under the Treaty Clause in Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, the President of the United States is only empowered to make treaties with other nations only after obtaining the consent of a two-thirds supermajority of the United States Senate. This has not yet happened, nor will it before Obama goes to Copenhagen with the EPA declaration. Yet the Obama administration has indicated that the President will sign a binding treaty which will force the U.S. to commit to a twenty percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2020. Of course, the socialist European climate scammers are excited by Obama’s arrival in Copenhagen armed with bureaucratic, top-down command-style regulation rather than a legitimate mandate based on Congressional legislation. After all, they are unelected power-hungry bureaucrats who are excited to see this president doing everything in his power to literally destroy the liberty, sovereignty and power of the United States from within.
