Capitol Punishment for Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods has officially been declared unfit for Congress -- a California lawmaker is abandoning his plan to give Woods the highest Congressional award for a civilian in the wake of Tiger's scandal.

Earlier today, Representative Joe Baca (D-Calif) released a statement saying, "In light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family, I will not pursue legislation awarding him the Congressional Gold Medal this session."

Baca had previously submitted a bill to give Woods the award in recognition of his "service to the Nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship, and in breaking barriers with grace and dignity by showing that golf is a sport for all people."

For the record, the bill had no co-sponsor ... even before the Tiger drama began.

Good sportsmanship?? When?? Where?? Tiger is one of the most juvenile players on the course - throwing his golf clubs, swearing, being wildly aggressive (his fist-pumps are truly repulsive).

Whoa,Whoa,Whoa!!!
The reasons for the award stand- and Tiger has earned them.
He has benefited the sport of golf, he has broken barriers, etc. Now if the Congressional award was for FAMILY LIFE then he wouldn’t deserve it.
But oh the irony of ANYONE in Congress judging Tiger for his promiscuous behavior! How many of them are doing the same- or worse? Hypocrites!
In politics being a sleazebag( Ted Kennedy comes to mind) makes one a GOD. Even murder is excused!
Tiger doesn’t win any awards for morality or judgement in his personal life BUT as a golfer he is still the #1 in the world and any awards re. his playing the game are well earned.
IF one’s personal life negated their professional life in politics, entertainment, etc there would be no politicians and no Hollywood.
Politicians and entertainers are the LAST people who have the right to judge Tiger.

Tiger Woods is a PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE who is worth a billion dollars because he can swing a club.

So he was getting this award because of his color? Unbelievable.

I’ll agree

Public courses are where the real jerks are at, wannabe idiots in all shapes and sizes, and it ONLY takes 5 or 6 hours to play!

At my club, joined 3 yrs ago, rounds take between 3-4 hours, and the folks while pretty old for the most part, are long past their snobby years, and are really nice to hang out with. The price is high, and it requires 100 rounds per year or more to justify. My dues are about 400 per mo, but when you take on little fees, food and drink at moderate degrees, I never have a bill outside of 900-1100.

The course is in INCREDIBLE shape, and that has value, plus it has weight room, pool, lake, yada... Again, in order to make it worth while, you have to make it a lifestyle. I only live 5 minutes away, have kids, like old people, and definitely get my money’s worth.

Quite so. Tiger screws Blonde bimbos, Congress screws us, and doesn’t even buy us dinner or flowers first.
