Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have avoided contact with the public by hiding out in their family home in a Florida gated community since news of Woods' alleged affairs broke two weeks ago.
Now a source close to Nordegren's family tells Pop Tarts that the two are considering putting even more distance between themselves and Tiger's cheating scandal.
The insider says the couple is planning to leave the country “very soon.”
“Elin and Tiger are planning to temporarily move closer to Sweden, possibly to a private island, to get away from it all,” the insider said.
The news comes after Elin’s mother Barbro Holmberg, visiting from Sweden to assist her daughter during this trying time, was rushed to Florida’s Health Central hospital Tuesday morning after suffering stomach pains. She was released later in the day and reportedly returned to her daughter's house.
Despite the number of women coming forward to claim affairs with Woods, Nordegren’s family is hoping that the high-profile couple will somehow work through the scandal, the insider told Tarts.
“Elin’s family couldn’t be more devastated,” the source said. “But they want [Tiger and Elin] together for the kids’ sake.”
The family's efforts to keep it together come as more news on Tiger Woods' alleged promiscuous behavior comes to light.

I am going to guess that the above statement comes from Tiger and not from his wife AND Tiger.
She needs to kick him out of the mansion and keep it along with the yacht, cars, three dogs, bank accounts, and should he insist on the two children, he can have them. It would make her life much easier.

There are factors that MIGHT not have been considered in all of our speculation re. the PERSONAL lives here.
Elin is Swedish- perhaps she is far more liberal re. sex than most American women would be?
Perhaps she knew all along he was cheating and they have an
‘open’ marriage that was just fine as long as nothing made the press about his other women?
This may be a case of extreme embarrassment about things going public more than personal pain.
Look at the British royal family- the Diana/Charles thing in particular. EVERYONE knew he had horsefaced Camilla on the side even as he planned a big wedding. Mistresses were to be accepted and ignored by the wife. Faithfullness is not an expectation when you’re rich and titled- discretion is, however.
Might be the same case here. In Sweden such a marriage might be commonplace and cause no moral scandal whatever.
I think the NAACP should raise their voice - there is no african-american among the mistresses.....

Why would any woman want this guy, he is definitely a flawed individual and needs lots of work in therapy. The kids story makes me sick, what kind of father behaves this way knowing he has small children. BS!

I would only delete the offer of the children to this guy. As a former nanny and mother of two, she certainly loves children, especially her own.

Doesn’t it make sense? She isn’t acting like a mortified, furious wife. It’s either desperate love and a desire to hold on to him no matter what, or not as devastating as we middle class, conservative American types would see it were it us.
Women have compromised and put up with cheating, lying scumbag husbands- even abusive husbands- for far less than Elin has going. If she wants to stay married to a high-profile billionaire no matter what, she will put up with anything. If she KNEW the score before she married him and figured the compromise of fidelity was worth the lifestyle, etc then there is no victim here except the children who- thankfully- are too young to really comprehend all of this.
Hey- maybe it wasn’t a marriage for love as much as for image- anyone consider that? Not uncommon either.He gets a stable homelife image, legitimate kids and freedom to do what he wants as long as he’s not stupid( which he was, lets face it) and she gets to be Mrs Woods, has his children and tons of $$ for the rest of her life as well as a lavish lifestyle.
Could be we’re applying our ethics to people who don’t share them - or that its going to take a bit of time to break up with the minimum of damage all around.
We’ll see.
I don’t even know how you can recover from 1 affair, let alone 12, is that what the number is up to? I’m not seeing how any level of trust could ever be recovered there..
