It was a security breach and a big embarrassment for the Transportation Security Administration. A secret manual that tells airport screeners around the country how to do their jobs somehow wound up on line for all the world to see.
It detailed who should be screened, how often bags are checked for explosives, how to deal with CIA agents traveling with high-value intelligence assets - even provided images of various special identification cards, as CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports.
The breach reveals some of the government's most sensitive aviation security secrets. A 93-page manual prepared for federal airport screeners shows samples of law enforcement and official credentials - federal air marshals, CIA officers, and members of Congress - IDs which criminals or terrorists could copy.

Guess The New York Obama Times won't be publishing any of this or providing a full download like CBS News, hey?
Funny thing though, I can't find the download for the raw Climategate file on CBS News. Guess the Climategate data doesn't harm national security enough for CBS News to waste precious bandwidth on.
Paraphrasing Forrest Gump regarding Janet Napolitano, “You knew she was an idjut when you put her in charge, so what’d you expect?”
They probably pull you—and other elderly, innocent travelers—out of line regularly to balance out the statistics and show that they’re being “fair” in their searches.
The difference is in the degree of dissemination. The pin/password/passphrase is limited to you and the secured instrument. The document is intended for a limited group and is now posted on the internet, so it really makes no difference to the security of the information if we studiously avert our gaze, somebody/something is going to see it anyway. Practically, there is no obscurity.
Because CBS is part of the Communist Broadcast System. It is their duty to educate the ones who hate America and its free enterprise system.
Well, obviously there's plenty of other patently true reasons to knock CBS. But CBS is not the origin of that file - it's cryptome - so the post was inaccurate. It's distracting to post a false canard, there's no reason for it, and therefore I'm defending the quality of Free Republic, which is an honorable duty and in no way conveys any respect to CBS. It's just a matter of self-respect.
Same with the blue dress and Dan Rather&Mapes screwing the journalistic ethics.
They CARED about Bush "maybe" driving drunk - didn't care when Kennedy killed a young women when driving drunk. CBS covered the Pentagon papers - and every major military scandal up to and including foreign prisons for Muslims. They give a quick pass to any dem scandals - from money in freezers to pols on the take in New Orleans.
Rush just posited the possibility that Tiger was a conservative BASED ON the fact that the suck up networks are going after him. Dems get passes for any sexual perversions - look at the czars. Teach children to "fist" - no problem - no story.
Look at Larry Flynt - whispers he molested his own daughter - but he's a dem hero and the MSM doesn't touch him... ( no creepy pun intended). Look how they handled researchers lying about the link between cancer and smoking. The MSM loved that leaker.
Switch it to leakers on the global warming scam and they hush up - they don't like the leakers, put a lid on it. IN short they cover anything that hurts Republicans and anything that helps dems.
I just found it odd since the document clearly has the following markings and would think that CBS has violated the law (i.e. 5 U.S.C. 552 AND 49 CFR) by linking to the document even though the file is on the internet...
