It was a security breach and a big embarrassment for the Transportation Security Administration. A secret manual that tells airport screeners around the country how to do their jobs somehow wound up on line for all the world to see.
It detailed who should be screened, how often bags are checked for explosives, how to deal with CIA agents traveling with high-value intelligence assets - even provided images of various special identification cards, as CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports.
The breach reveals some of the government's most sensitive aviation security secrets. A 93-page manual prepared for federal airport screeners shows samples of law enforcement and official credentials - federal air marshals, CIA officers, and members of Congress - IDs which criminals or terrorists could copy.

the page missing is ... NO, that is not a TOXIC BOMB... it is a Dirty diaper for making them WAIT IN LINE for 2 weeks.
Its this administrations way of saying we are in charge and this Bush stuff didn’t work. Every day we see how imature Obumer and his rats are. They are taking us down the wrong path.
How I miss George Bush and John Ashcroft. This would have never happened on their watch.
They’ll do anything to distract from the ClimateGate emails, won’t they!?! ;-P
I'm a small red headed grandma of 11 who truly shows her age. What it is about me that arouses suspicion at airports is certainly beyond my ken.
“Trust us, we’re compitant. We’re you’re govermint ni action. Not to wory.”
Well, you admit you’re red haired. That’s it right there.
PING
What are the odds somebody gets fired over this ?
i think i would search all red-headed grandmas who are only 11 years old!
LOL!
Only problem is many here won’t get it. Sad to say.
Back in the day, Southwest used to line up people in boarding groups. Within the groups it was first come, first served. People would line up sometimes an hour early to be in the first part of their group. Of course, being the first in “A” group was the most desirable since you virtually had your pick of the entire aircraft.
A couple of years after 9/11, the TSA began this “random” screening process. This was how “random” it was: the first person in group A, would be pulled aside when loading began and have their person and bags gone through. No one, especially a terrorist could possibly have figured out the pattern.
I vividly remember milling around at a Southwest gate, with groups B and C filled with 20 to 30 people. Group A would be totally vacant. As soon as some poor unknowing person took spot 1, suddenly 20 - 30 other Group A boarding pass holders would now rush into place.
After a year or so of this madness, I guess even the TSA figured out that there were pygmies in the darkest forest of Borneo that knew exactly what was going on.
If the accidentally published manual contains more ideas like that, the terrorist already know it all. And they are laughing.
If CBS is so concerned, why does the article have a link to download the pdf file?
Well—it’s hard to admit to being anything but what I am—LOL!
TSA employees can read??
Wow! 93 pages to discuss how to manage the lunch schedule for TSA staff. That’s impressive.
I would bet on it. Obama will find a sacrificial lamb, for sure. Just like the Lord High Executioner in "The Mikado":
"As some day it may happen that a victim must be found,
I've got a little list I've got a little list
Of society offenders who might well be underground,
And who never would be missed who never would be missed!
There's the pestilential nuisances who write for autographs
All people who have flabby hands and irritating laughs
All children who are up in dates, and floor you with 'em flat
All persons who in shaking hands, shake hands with you like that
And all third persons who on spoiling tête-á-têtes insist
They'd none of 'em be missed they'd none of 'em be missed!
CHORUS
He's got 'em on the list he's got 'em on the list;
And they'll none of 'em be missed they'll none of 'em be missed."
