Your substantive string of posts on this thread and the responses to them reminds me of what I like best about this site - the sometimes awkward honesty that informs all true pursuit of truth and justice.

I hope you have a great day.

Very, very true. You wouldn't believe how much "awkward" I went through when I first made my escape from the left.

This'll tickle you... When I first heard conservative talk radio, it was by complete fluke. I was working on a customer's home, and he had Rush on his garage radio. I didn't even know what it was until I started listening more closely. When I realized what he was listening to, I experienced something like a shock. "Why, that's that right-wing hate radio I've heard about!"

Well, I had a family to feed, and wasn't about to ask him to turn it off, so I kept on working. I kept listening though, more out of a sort of morbid curiosity than anything else. This stuff was verboten, as far as I was concerned.

Well, bit by bit, I began to notice that the host was destroying the arguments of every liberal who called in. Every time he did this, I thought to myself, "Hmmm, that's not bad. He won that round, but surely the next caller will put a hole in his argument."

Well, it never happened. One by one, the host (I think it was Rush) obliterated every liberal argument presented, and laid out more airtight logic and reasoning than I'd ever heard in such a short amount of time.

Later that night, I tuned my office radio to the same talk station to hear what other hosts were saying. Mind you, I did this in a skulking manner so that my wife wouldn't hear it. I even turned it way down, and sat on the other side of the room, in a sort of defensive posture. LOL

Needless to say, before the week was out, I was gorging myself on this new-found, steady stream of truth, logic, and well-reasoned thinking. I couldn't get enough of it. I know that I resonated to what I was hearing because it was the truth that had always lived inside me. It was like coming home to me.

FR is very much the same for me. I resonate with this place.
