Famous weather scientist: Climategate 'tip of iceberg'

The Colorado scientist described by the Washington Post as "the World's Most Famous Hurricane Expert" says the "ClimateGate" e-mails from the United Kingdom that revealed possible data manipulation are evidence of a conspiracy among "warmists," those who believe man's actions are triggering possibly catastrophic climate change.

"The recent 'ClimateGate' revelations coming out of the UK University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the last 25 years," said Colorado State University's Dr. William Gray.

His are the annual hurricane forecasts that are the standard for weather prognostications. His work pioneered the science of forecasting hurricanes and he has served as weather forecaster for the United States Air Force. He is Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Science at CSU and heads the school's Department of Atmospheric Sciences Tropical Meteorology Project.

He was referring to e-mails and other information that had been obtained by a hacker and posted on a Russian web server that included e-mails among scientists who are part of the cadre of researchers who believe man-made global warming is an impending catastrophe for the world.

One e-mail said: "I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd (sic) from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline."

Honestly there should be criminal prosecutions for conspiracy.
The entire idea that the climate is warming due to human activity; is wholly fabricated.

Nobama has no interest in what is right.
For him it is all about Marxist style domination of
America, and the world.

well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the last 25 years.

And, today the state run media is showing clips of a woman, I gather, at the conference uttering this alarmist stuff. Also, they are now repeating the EPA mantra that we are in danger, blah blah.

Here in my state, we are having the worst December global warming event since 1977.
Our state will be shut down tomorrow.
Up to 16 inches of snow. I will be scooping global warming from my sidewalk and driveway tomorrow.

from White House.gov...

President Barack Obama meets with former Vice President Al Gore in the Oval Office in advance of his Wednesday meeting with business and environmental leaders at the White House regarding the Copenhagen conference, Dec. 7, 2009. (Official White House photo by Pete Souza)

President Barack Obama met with former Vice President Al Gore in the Oval Office today in advance of his trip to Copenhagen where he will participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The White House recently announced that, in the context of an overall deal in Copenhagen that includes robust mitigation contributions from China and the other emerging economies, the President is prepared to put on the table a U.S. emissions reduction target in the range of 17% below 2005 levels in 2020 and ultimately in line with final U.S. energy and climate legislation.

This announcement was met with strong support from a diverse group of leaders, including former Vice President Al Gore:

"President Obama took an important step today with the announcement that he will attend the global warming treaty talks in Copenhagen.

This action is another example of the significant change in policy on the climate crisis....Those who feared that the United States had abdicated its global responsibility should take hope from these actions and work towards completing a strong operational agreement next month in Copenhagen and guidelines for negotiators to complete their work next year on a comprehensive treaty.

It is my hope that the Senate will support the President and move quickly to pass climate and energy legislation early next year in order to ensure that the world moves toward speedy solutions for the climate crisis."

Actually, if the "believed" in global warming they wouldn't be modifying the data to fit their predictions and they wouldn't be conspiring to silence any real scientific reviews and critical examination of the data (which they destroyed). No, they were knowingly and intentionally perpetrating what would have ended up being the greatest theft in the history of the world.

"Here in my state, we are having the worst December global warming event since 1977."

Here in Fort Collins Colorado as I write it is -5 degrees. I've lived here since 1969 and I do not remember a colder year then 2009.

“Actually, if the “believed” in global warming they wouldn’t be modifying the data to fit their predictions and they wouldn’t be conspiring to silence any real scientific reviews and critical examination of the data (which they destroyed). “

Exactly. Good science doesn’t need to be manipulated.

Not only that but I believe climate change is not only a fraud, but those who foist it on us should be prosecuted as common criminals!

I was wondering about this being just a hint as politicians and corporations started jumping on board.

I remember a time when the big hairy crisis was the ozone hole over the Antarctic. The very same "climate scientists" will speak very matter of factly today.

It was being blamed on air conditioning and specifically freon, a CFC. At first the industry opposed the legislation but then Dupont had a light go on. There were a few manufacturers of freon, and Dupont wanted a corner on the market with its new formula, so they "greened up" and supported the environmental legislation.

Although I doubt that the original refrigerant actually harmed the ozone, it was later postulated that the 6 mos of darkness over Antarctica did not allow for the synthesis of ozone and as a result, the hole would open up...then close as sunlight became available. No one had previously been looking for such a phenomenon.

I'll stand by for flaming, but I doubt that the newer formulas..the HCFCs are any more or less reactive than the original...and I believe Dupont got what they were after.

DR. Gray summed it up: "These warming scenarios have been orchestrated by a combination of environmentalists, vested interest scientists wanting larger federal grants and publicity, the media which profits from doomsday scenario reporting, governmental bureaucrats who want more power over our lives, and socialists who want to level-out global living standards. "

Why level out global living standards?

So there is nothing left to fight for.

Only the overlords will have plenty, the serfs will live in squalor.

There will be no incentive to learn, to excel, to innovate, to perform.

The Socialist vision is nothing more than the beginning of a new Dark Age.

The new refrigerents are listed as one of the GHGs; fluorcarbons replaced chlorofluorcarbons; also on the GHG list are perfluorcarbons so that leaves them out; the latest switchover is leaning toward flammable refrigerents which have their own hazards, a step backwards in terms of user/worker safety.

No good deed goes unpunished.
