It's pretty obvious in Going Rogue that SP hates the GOP establishment, but I see this as more of a threat to get its act together.

If she want’s to be President, run as a real conservative republican and redefine the GOP. It worked for Reagan. 3rd party will get 4 more years of the Obama crime family. guaranteed.

I dont believe she is going 3rd party. I think she is going to attempt to fix the GOP..its going to take a lot of work, a lot of RINOS in there, but it can be done

The real problem is the voting system itself.

No voting system should make the worst, first, simply because of vote-splitting.

Palin’s not going to run as a third party candidate, you can be sure of that. She knows that such a move would guaranty 0bama another term. Besides, why should she, she can win the nomination fair and square against the rather pathetic field out there right now. Does anyone really think that Mitt, Tim, Newt or Huck can win at this point? Going Rogue, and a 2nd #1 bestseller sure to come, and another 15 months of great interviews, events, massive fundraising, and campaigning across the country in 2010, will pretty much guaranty her the nomination.

Consider the source. Allahpundit HATES Sarah Palin. Just a typical bit of troublemaking.

It may, in fact, turn out that the Republican Party decides to commit suicide in the next couple of years, which are absolutely critical for our country. In that case, Sarah might run with a new SECOND PARTY. But it’s premature to say whether or not that will happen. If it happens, it happens.

But she is NOT going to run as a spoiler. She is not Ross Perot. The very thought of comparing her to Perot is ridiculous.

And forget Allahpundit. The guy is a jerk.

Sarah, if you are paying attention, don’t do this unless you want Obama to have another term, because that is all it will accomplish. It’s good to wake the Republican Party up to the political realities of turning its back on conservatives, but we need to do it like Reagan, not like Perot.

Primaries need to be close otherwise the Democrats can give us another RINO. With open primaries that people can go to the poles switch their party affiliation. It will be hard to keep a RINO out unless there is overwhelming conservative turn out

she is very smart and knows how to set her negotiating tactic, but she is also not crazy enough to want to re-elect Obama on a 42% plurality. (that job will be left to guys like Lou Dobbs...)

Allahpundit is a self admitted atheist and VERY VERY anti-Palin. Anything he says about Sarah should be discounted to zero - no credibility.

She better not Perot the ticket. Obama will be highly beatable in 12, but if 10% of the populace goes to a 3rd party conservative he’ll win.

She hates the paid political hacks that ran the McCain campaign, not the party. But, come on, the woman’s on a book tour, she’s not going to disagree with any position or question put to her that might affect sales.

Sarah going third party would be the end of her political career. She won’t do that. Sarah is a team player.

You must not have read the book, because that does not come through at all. She beat a corrupt GOP incumbent for the Governors seat in Alaska ( and she doesn't say anything bad about him personally ) and decries politicians taking liberties in general, but she doesn't indicate any hate for the GOP establishment at all. She is very complimentary about John McCain and only indirectly critical of the political operatives that ran his campaign. She very solidly comes out for limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual rights, and associates these values with the GOP.
