Eastern Daily Press, UK ^ | December 7, 2009 | Shaun Lowethorpe

Bosses at the University of East Anglia insisted last night the under- fire institution could ride out the storm of the climategate scandal - but called on the support of people in Norfolk and Norwich to help them through the most damaging row in its history.

# A national newspaper yesterday suggested Russian security services could have been behind the breach, which is being investigated by Nor-folk police aided by Scotland Yard.

You must read the whole article - it reads like a 3rd grade mystery novel...or Dick Tracy - special agent.

Unbelievable!!!

The East Anglian locals should be offended at this insult to their intelligence.

Climategate rundown (extensive)
Ping me if you find one I've missed.

Already determined it was a LEAK, not a "hack" - this isn't getting them any sympathy.

I hope nobody falls for this clumsy attempt at misdirection.

It doesn't really matter whether Russkys or teenagers or an insider or Lower Slobbovians exposed the Emails.

They didn't WRITE them!

The guy who goes in the kitchen and turns on the lights is not responsible for the cockroaches that scatter to the baseboards . . . .

Following your comment:

It was Phil Jones (former head of the CRU) who confirmed the content of (his) email.

Clumsy is right - almost worthy of Monty Python!

Global warming alarmists are getting a little paranoid...

-

-

When was the last time you heard a scientist get hysterical when you asked him to explain Einstein's theory of relativity?

If you ask a scientist why nothing can move faster than the speed of light, he doesn't tell you a terrible story about how koala bears will die if you don't believe the theory is right, does he?

Scientists who are confident and in command of the facts don't need to distort data and duck basic questions about the assumptions that are behind scientific theories.

Prof Trevor Davies, pro-vice chancellor at UEA, said he believed the university would emerge with its reputation intact, after launching an independent review into how it handles data and responds to FOI requests.

“... Our position is, as far as the science is concerned we think that it is robust. The science is, we believe, rock solid; even if you took out CRU, it would still be an absolutely overwhelming case.”

Rock solid, except for the fact we deleted/lost our original data.

The guy is a PR man, not a scientist... I wonder how long the FOI data requests sat around, and how they will cover that up...:^)
