The era of 'blame Bush' for Obama is over
CNN ^ | 12/07/09 | Roland Martin

With President Barack Obama's decision to escalate the war in Afghanistan by sending 30,000 additional troops to battle Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, he has put his imprint on the war on terror, and at the same time, given up the Democrats' most famous fallback position: blame George W. Bush.

Couple that with the economy and we are seeing the end of the president's first year in office coincide with him having to accept the full responsibility for the condition of the country.

Obama rode into office on the "blame Bush" tidal wave as the nation sickened of everything he touched. The economy? Bush was horrible at stewarding it. Giving banks billions in TARP funds? Dumb idea by Bush and Treasury Secretary Hank "Mr. Wall Street" Paulson. Sick of billions going to the war? It was all the fault of Bush and his chief crony, Vice President Dick Cheney.

The blame Bush mantra proved effective because it totally silenced Republicans, who were loathe to defend a conservative president who began with a surplus and ended with a deficit, as well as the architect of a war in Iraq based on never-proven claims of weapons of mass destruction. They couldn't even muster the strength to call him a conservative.

So you think President Bush was a “squish,” huh?

For failing to veto bills, yes.

For championing Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind, amnesty for illegal aliens, man-made climate change, and the bailouts, among other things, yes.

But, just by reading the rest of your post, I can see exactly where your priorities are.

So long as you feel "safe" because the U.S. is at war (even though one could replace Iraq with Kosovo and Bush with Clinton, and then you would probably oppose the war) and the President is speaking soothing words to you, you're perfectly happy.

Benjamin Franklin had some words for you, over two hundred and thirty years ago.

"Those who would trade liberty for short-term safety deserve neither."

You trying to say rabs debates the way YOU do? He doesn’t

Well, you've got me there. I don't run around saying childish things like 'bite me'. Then again, I don't have to support the kooky isolationist views of Ron Paul either. So I'm at a bit of an advantage.

That's the partisan left.

And your point is?

The far left unconditionally opposes all American military intervention abroad.

I will oppose any American intervention that is justified by resolutions of the globalist United Nations and not otherwise done for defensive reasons or is conducted in a manner that is non-compliant with the rule of law.

No, you just prefer to go around calling people "Paulistas" because they refuse to join you in the Cult of the RINO aka the Republican Party.

Bush was a RINO!

Obama is not!  He's a radical Marxist! Who hates you, me, his grandma, and this country.

No, you come on and call two decent CONSERVATIVES supporters of Obambi because their moral code would not allow them to support YOUR (potentially MORE) destructive RINO. Now, THAT’S a really neat debating tactic. You want a Socialist, self-aggrandizing POS RINO in the Whitehouse, just after another RINO Globalist leaves, yet you call CONSERVATIVES Obambi supporters? SURE you’re right!

Are you also a Romney-bot, loser?

I didn’t agree with everything President Bush did, but he did a lot of big things correctly. He was vastly better than the alternatives of the time - Gore and Kerry. He recognized the existential threat of Islamist terror, and took decisive and ongoing action against it. He stayed the course. That’s why I think history will judge him quite kindly.

I don’t feel “safe” because the U.S. is at war. And “soothing words” from a president don’t make me “perfectly happy.”

Cult of the RINO aka the Republican Party.

Just because I don't support the kooky isolationist views of Ron Paul doesn't make me a RINO. Seems like your one and only enemy is the Republican Party. Perhaps because you agree with Ron Paul and the far left when they claim that our intervention in Iraq and Afganistan are 'illegal wars'? Since support for such policies makes one a RINO in your view, you must consider Sarah Palin a RINO as well, huh? She isn't a Paulista.

two decent CONSERVATIVES

Conservatives don't compare islamic terrorists to concentration camp victims.

(potentially MORE) destructive

That's what I've been saying. When it came down to either McCain or Obama, they favored Obama. Thanks for making my point.

Are you also a Romney-bot, loser?

I've got one Paulite using childish commands like 'bite me', and I've got another calling me a 'loser'. You guys crack me up!

When it came to McLame or Obambi, McLame is the one who could have done an equal or greater amount of damage as Obambi. How does THAT make YOUR point? YOU were the one supporting the RINO POS, McLame.

Now, with Obambi, at least Americans are waking up and RISING up to oppose him. With McLame, you party uber alles types would be here telling us that the self-same commie legislation HE was pushing was OK ‘cause McLame was a pubbie and there was some “conservative” GOOD hidden away in it.

You ARE a loser.

Oh stop it.

All in all Bush was a damn good president. He cut taxes, moved to improve education, supported the military.

Medicare Part D is one of the few government programs that is under budget and moderately successful because free-market principles are at the program’s foundation.

He eliminated Saddam Hussein and his two lovely sons. He gave Iraqis freedom.

And for seven years he kept you and me safe. He almost dismantled al-quaeda until the Democrats gave them support again.

Bush was a President of honor and dignity. I’m tired of people here bitching about Bush.

Medicare Part D is one of the few government programs that is under budget and moderately successful because free-market principles are at the program’s foundation.

Medicare is an un-Constitutional Big Government entitlement program.

There's no getting around that.

He eliminated Saddam Hussein and his two lovely sons. He gave Iraqis freedom.

All done on false pretenses.

Where are the weapons of mass destruction?

...moved to improve education...

No Child Left Behind established Federal control over public education, which had largely been a state and local government function.

Guess who's in power now and thus has the ability to determine educational standards?

So much for "improving" education!

And for seven years he kept you and me safe.

Tell that to the late Cpl. Brian Mathews, USMC, a former resident of Columbia, Md., who was killed along with his date in 2006 by a drunk driver illegal alien because "Dubya" failed to execute the valid immigration law of the United States.

Instead of actually executing the valid immigration law of the United States, Bush preferred to let Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean languish in a Federal prison before commuting their sentences in the final days of his administration. Their crime? They roughed up a fleeing illegal alien.

He cut taxes...

Yet failed to veto spending bills and supported all manner of Big Government legislation.

Deficit spending constitutes a tax burden deferred. Just because YOU don't have to pay for it NOW doesn't make it right or acceptable; after all, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and SOMEONE, somewhere down the line, will ultimately have to pay for such spending.

Raising taxes on future generations without their consent--"taxation without representation"--is just plain wrong; it's one of the primary reasons the Founders rebelled against the last King named George!

they favored Obama.

RINObot, show me the statement where I endorsed Obama.

Oh, wait, you won't be able to find one!

But I can find the statements where your RINO candidate McQueeg endorsed Obambi and the Party of Death and Taxes™:

"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008

"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004

“I will NEVER forgive the man for what he tried to do - inundate us with millions of DEMOCRATS. Never again. No more RINOs. His amnesty plans faltered, so we still have a slim chance of defeating the left. If Mr “See you at the bill signing” had won, it’d be all over.”

WINNER!

Remember when I posted that if you veer a little too far to the right, the RINO’s will call you a leftist?

Well?

Tell that to my neighbor who was murdered by an illegal alien
while picking up a pizza. Tell it to 30,000 murdered by illegal aliens. Bush was the biggest promoter of illegal immigration on both sides, Democrat or Republican.

“Instead of actually executing the valid immigration law of the United States, Bush preferred to let Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean languish in a Federal prison before commuting their sentences in the final days of his administration. Their crime? They roughed up a fleeing illegal alien.”

The act of a coward. Freeing them might have upset the thugs running Mexico.

You and I will remember the “good old days” of GW and contrast them with the current Marxist reality unless we take a no compromise stance NOW.
