Every major conference has to have a private academic school in it to give credence to the education emphasis.

SEC - Vanderbilt
Big 12 - Baylor
Big 10/11 - Northwestern
Pac 10 - Stanford
ACC - Duke and Wake Forest

Big East - OK, it doesnt work for all conferences. In basket ball they have Notre Dame.
