Executives at Comcast, the media behemoth looking to buy a 51 percent stake in NBC Universal, have given large sums of money to presidential candidate Barack Obama and Democrats in recent years The Hill reported Saturday:
Comcast chief executive Brian Roberts made more than $76,000 in political contributions to Democrats since 2006, compared to $13,500 in contributions to Republicans. I just had Comcast set up internet access about a month ago. After reading this I went directly to AT&Ts website and placed an order for internet access with them. As soon as my equipment arrives and they install everything I’m calling Comcast to cancel and let them know what I think of their head honchos.
Very interesting. Now what do we do?
Good idea
If you own Comcast stock, vote against retention of the board.
I have Comcast cable and internet .... tomorrow I cancel and get another service
...so I guess I'll be switching to Verizon in the real near future!
Ditto. I hear Uverse is very good and cheaper.
It is. My son has U-verse. Their receiver is wireless too. One less wire is always a good thing!
Got rid on Comcast for AT & T UVerse.
Screw libs.
We remember it come election time. If we have a choice of cable providers, we remember it as well. Hopefully, when the Democrats lose control of the house and senate, the Republicans will remember and do something about it.
I unfortunately don’t have a choice in cable providers and Comcast is screwing me.
Yep. Same problem here.
