PANAMA CITY, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- The 25th Ordinary Assembly of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) decided on Friday to suspend the Honduran Congress from it, for supporting the coup against ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya.
Most of the Latin American deputies voted in favor of the suspension, Parlatino Executive Secretary Humberto Pelaez from Columbia said.
"The suspension measure was approved by 103 votes in favor, three against and seven abstentions," Pelaez told a press conference after the Ordinary Assembly in Panama City.
Pelaez urged the Honduran congressmen to think over and work to reinstate the constitutional order in their country.
"This morning I talked with the president of Honduran Congress, Jose Saavedra, to let him know the suspension resolution against his country," Pelaez added.
The majority of Honduran lawmakers voted on Wednesday against the reinstatement of Zelaya, who was deposed by a military coup on June 28.

I’m surprised Colombia voted against Honduras (or that’s how it sounds, at least). I wonder what the actual vote was?

I don’t even know what this so-called Parliament even is and do not have time to look for more. I saw only this one reference on my Google alerts; though the China news has been first out on a number of facets of this whole situation; as has Al Jazeera
Hello???? It was not a “military coup”, it was adherence to the Honduran Constitution!

I could find no such declaration on the website of this Congress.
I never heard of it either. So I googled it and learned very little. It is headquartered in Panama City and has a big (really big) sculpture of a bleeding hand in front of its headquarters.
The Prensa Latina has something about this, but it is very leftist in its reporting and I seriously doubt that Colombia voted in favor of this.
Overall, it will change nothing. Honduras wins!
The only thing importante is USA recognized election and thus flows the aide $$ again (instead of into Zelaya’s Swiss bank account)

I have never, ever seen this ugly place, and I live here. The surroundings in those photos aren’t familiar to me. It looks like those photos were taken in another country.
And it sure sounds like a leftist organization.
I skimmed the headlines of the newspapers in the supermarket this a.m. and nothing of this meeting caught my attention unless it was below the fold. Whatever, Panamanians didn’t think it was anything to write home about. The Panamanian public agrees with Honduras.
Uh, didn't they uphold their constitutional order already and keep the little worm out?
