Obama switches climate change visit to end of summit (after "progress" in negotiations)

US President Barack Obama has changed his plans to attend the UN summit on climate change in Copenhagen next week, the White House has announced.

He will arrive later than initially planned, moving his appearance from 9 December to 18 December.

The White House said he believed "that continued US leadership can be most productive through his participation at the end of the Copenhagen conference".

The summit aims to draw up a treaty to succeed the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.

The president had changed his plans after talks with other leaders and after seeing "the progress that has already been made to give momentum to negotiations".

Climate fund support

US representatives will attend the Copenhagen summit throughout negotiations, the White House added.

It said the president believed recent progress included the emissions reduction target announced by the US; China and India setting targets for the first time to reduce their carbon intensity and moves by members of the Commonwealth.

The White House said the president had discussed the state of the negotiations with Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

He concluded there appeared to be growing support for the suggested $10bn annual fund to help developing countries deal with climate change.

You’re correct. The fix is in. The reason he can delay going is that they have polled the participants and they, like the MSM and the scientists like John Holdren who are in this collusion, are in agreement that Climategate be damned, we want this treaty as one of many vehicles to aid in the initiation of a one world government. But you just have to laugh at the absolute arrogance of the Obamalamadingdong group that thinks he will be “elected” King of the World. Trust me. His name is not in the top 5 candidates.

“He’s going to tell everyone to break out into groups and write reports on their ideas for burying Climategate. He’s going to show up at the end to see everyone’s work, and he wants details.”

He can issue executive orders to accomplish much of a formal treaty. He can also allow the EPA to implement the treaty. Congress could stop both actions if it desired but of course the rats do not want to stop the administration. Administration threats will hold a powerful force on Congress to take action. It will be difficult for Republicans to block a treaty and legislation. The only force stopping legislation and a treaty is the economy.

Having just signed an extension of START-1 with Putin allows Putin’s revanchist plan of forming a tripartite among the three world powers to create an allied power whose goal is to further exploit the developing world., advance.

China and India will be the immediate threat to his grand plan.

Obama’s just enjoying his moment on stage.

He was only going for the beginning to save face. Now that he is going in the end; it means the ducks are all lined up for the global communism climate treaty.

Sad. The times we are living in are surreal.

Once again: Obama can’t simply sign away our sovereignty.
He can squander incredible amounts of money, and issue awful, insane, and catastrophic executive orders, but to ratify a treaty, he’d need not sixty, but sixty-seven votes in the senate. He might get as many as sixty-five fairly easily; I’d do just about anything to help him tip over now and forever; but I believe disgust with the slimy mobster will delay the crap and tax treaty beyond BHO’s tenure.

Late Friday afternoon, I wrote, “I vote we give [Obama] a “fate accomplished”! Sometime today I said, “VOTE”? You don’t “vote” on something like that. Part of me obviously accepts what I have until now denied: that I’m no longer strong enough, and therefore steady enough, to hold a five hundred yard sight picture. I just want you two to know that I don’t want anyone else to take up that task. Though Obama’s behavior prompts many intense warlike thoughts, I really do and will pray for peace... as long as I can.
