TACOMA, Wash. — Authorities have charged four people with aiding the man accused of killing four Washington state police officers and plan on indicting two more in what investigators call a network of friends and relatives that helped Maurice Clemmons avoid capture.

Rickey Hinton, 47, pleaded not guilty Thursday at his arraignment to three counts of first-degree rendering criminal assistance. Pierce County Superior Court Judge Frederick Flemming ordered him held on $2 million bail.

Court documents accuse Hinton, Clemmons' half brother, of lying to police Sunday when they stopped him for questioning near the property owned by Clemmons where Hinton lived. Police say Hinton claimed he hadn't heard from Clemmons and didn't know where he was. He also denied any knowledge of the shooting, which happened in suburban Tacoma, court records said.

Darcus Allen, 38, pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail Wednesday after being charged with being a fugitive. Allen is accused of helping Clemmons flee the Parkland coffee house Sunday morning after he shot to death four Lakewood police officers.

Allen did time in Arkansas... did he receive commutation also?

Two more suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon: Clemmons' friend Quiana Maylea Williams, and his aunt Letricia Nelson.

Lock them up and throw away the key.

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe said Thursday he's willing to look at any recommended changes in how his state sends parolees to Washington state after Clemmons, an Arkansas parolee, shot the Lakewood officers.

Shaking my head.

Pierce County Superior Court Judge Frederick Flemming ordered him held on $2 million bail.

If Clemmons would have received $2 million bail, we would have four more police officers alive today.

Were any of them the Judges that allowed him to be out on an insanely low bail, let alone on bail at all for his charge of raping a 12 year old???

They are just as criminally liable as far as I’m concerned.

Why parole people like this? Why have parole?

They should do the time!

Allen was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a 1990 double murder at a Little Rock liquor store. He was paroled in 2004

We reap what we sow. The left cost of Seattle - left of the Cascades that is - will suffer their liberalism.

Sure wish they would name those involved with letting Clemmons out on Bail here in Washington. He was arrested on his third Strike in Washington. This State has a “3-Strikes Your Out” law, meaning if convicted and found guilty he gets Life in prison. With the threat of Life in Prison, the Judge should of known he was a flight risk, and he was aware of Clemmons mental evaluation which showed that he was a danger to the public.

I would suspect they probably paroled Clemmons to WA because he seems to have had family there and AR wanted to get rid of him. Parole offices usually don’t parole somebody without that person having a place to go to, usually a place where he has family.

Allen was paroled about the same time from AR and I read here yesterday that they did know each other in jail; I think Allen and possibly Clemmons became Nation of Islam members in jail.

I’m mystified by this, though, because if Allen was able to drive Clemmons away from the scene, that means he must have been sitting there waiting for him while he was shooting. So to me, that means this was actually an organized conspiracy to kill the police officers. In other words, possibly Clemmons’ family members were accessories after the fact, but it seems to me that Allen must have been in on it.

In Joshua ch. 7, Achan’s family was punished for their apparent complicity in his crimes. Seems like a pretty good rule.

Here's Judge Felnagle, the lenient bail setter. Attorneys love him.

In pre-Christian Ireland they lived by a code called the Brehon laws. When anyone was found guilty of a crime, their family had to serve the sentence with them.

Sure wish they would name those involved with letting Clemmons out on Bail here in Washington.

Disgustingly, (from the article) each state is blaming the other:

"At issue is a warrant that Arkansas officials issued for Clemmons. Arkansas corrections officials say the warrant should have been enough to keep Clemmons in jail on a charge in Pierce County, Wash. But Washington officials say it wasn't handled properly in Arkansas."

Thats rich, $2 million bail for a low life who assisted the murderer, but only $150,000 bail for Clemmons.

Allen is being held without bail so let's hope the local authorities are thinking the way you do.
