Sarah Palin scrambled away from the birther movement last night after giving them a wink and a nod on a conservative radio talk show yesterday. Posting on her Facebook page at 1:16am, Palin writes that, "at no point not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States." She tries to dismiss her birther flirtation as just an acknowledgment of voters' right to know: "Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. Ive pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child."
Well ... three problems with her explanation.
First, here's what she said when asked if she would raise the birth certificate issue in a presidential campaign (emphasis mine):
I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue. I don't have a problem with that. I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers.
The key word there is "rightfully," which in this context means that it is right--as in correct or proper--to ask the question. She didn't say that the public has the right to ask, she said that it's right for the public to ask. That's an Alaska-sized difference.

Before my post, YOU said she did NOT in fact produce the birth certificate. Where did she say that?
On what evidence do you base your statement?
Shouldn’t you be out defending MittCare in Taxachussetts.
Of course he was for abortion before he was against it.
Honestly I don’t know, is abortion funding in MittCare ??
Then she put her toe in then stepped back, that makes her a TYPICAL POLITICIAN.
More like helplessly convulsed with laughter.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
He who laughs last laughs best. :-)
Absolutely not.
Palin is learning fast.
She will be formiddable by 2012. You have to learn how to aboid political pitfalls. She doesn’t need a legal case to beat Obama she will get more votes than Obama.
Now your boy Mitt, he passed that MittCare and that will hang on his neck like LL Cool J Bling lmao.
Where did she say she hasn't?
” And to whom did she show it?”
We know for a fact that a pack of rabid journalists descended on her doctor and her lawyer, baying for blood and demanding Trigg's birth certificate before they would leave.
Has any of these journalists some out and said they never saw Trigg’s birth certificate?
Why on earth would they have dropped the story of they hadn't in fact seen the birth certificate, when they were all over that story after she was nominated?
Has any journalist who chased that story written an article saying they never saw it, and is still demanding to see it?
Site your sources.
Did you read what I read? I said I wouldn’t post my child’s birth certificate and that I would tell the reporters to pound sand. I don’t know how much clearer I can make it.
What I have consistently said is that it is wrong to say that she posted it, as some are saying when in fact, she did not.
It has nothing to do with anything Constitutional. It has to do with the fact that some are arguing that she showed it. That is patently untrue.
I don’t know about you, but I resist things that aren’t demonstrably true at all costs, even when it would help my argument in the short run.
You mis-characterized my posts and disregarded the several times I said that I do not think she should show his records.
That’s blatantly dishonest and you owe me an apology. If you can’t manage it, don’t bother to respond.
By the way, Mitt said "hi"
Thanks for the pic.
Is abortion funding in the MittCare ObamaCare bill?
If it is enough to say that she "must" have presented it because there is no proof she didn't, congratulations:
You have just made Barack Obama's argument for him. His supporters say that he doesn't need to prove it, either.
The same reporters that aren't asking about Trig's records aren't asking about Obama's. So... does that make Obama right?
No, of course not.
See where your problem is now?
I simply read what you posted, and this was the “money quote”.
“Because if the argument is that she was asked but didnt show them, shes in the exact same boat as Obama, making it a very bad argument”
After due consideration.... YOU DON’T DESERVE ONE.
You have to ask me, I am assuming you CAN read.
Oh, I found it. MittCare does fund abortions with taxpayer money.
Gov. Romney’s universal health care program for Massachusetts includes taxpayer-funded abortions
Legislation names Planned Parenthood as member of advisory board
The cornerstone of Gov. Mitt Romney’s new universal health care law for Massachusetts is a program titled “Commonwealth Care”, a plan for thousands of low-income people who could not afford regular health insurance, funded by the taxpayers.
One of the stated benefits covered in Commonwealth Care is “abortions.” And Planned Parenthood is written into the law, as part of the “payment policy advisory board.”
PALIN'S A WITCH!
BURN HER!!!!
No, they probably realize that to remove the fraud at this point would cause a national civil war. Is the constitution really worth all that death and destruction?
Youre full of it.
Go back to your buddies at DU.
On point B: No.
E-man; great to see you outside an LDS thread.
> Would you trust a document that Obama himself provided? > Its best that he have no action in releasing a vital record.
I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see the Immaculate-Deceptioners FINALLY admit that the American Public should not TRUST those Obama's has lied or twisted just about everything else, deceiving both Liberals and Conservatives alike along the way. There's absolutely no reason to TRUST him on birth certificates that Obama gave to hand-picked non-experts at FactCheck in 2008. Credibility matters!

I am outside of many of them.
I have many interests and am quite capable of multitasking...
