He made us in his image, gave us freewill and then turned us loose.
His grand design is to let us go as far as we can to conquer the universe He's made. As we increase our understanding of his design, we will survive to defeat death by age, learn to explore His universe for a decent spot to live as our solar system wears out, and learn to truly coexist with others for the benefit of all.
