Obama finds a less friendly Pennsylvania on his return

I think the political environment in Pennsylvania has dramatically changed since last year, and now the Republicans are looking increasingly competitive," said Terry Madonna, a political scientist and pollster at Franklin & Marshall College In Lancaster, Pa.

Obama was the fifth consecutive Democratic presidential candidate to carry Pennsylvania, and winning the 21 electoral votes from the Keystone State helped him clinch the presidency.

But just below the national political radar, Pennsylvania last month held statewide judicial races in which six of the seven contests on the ballot were won by Republicans.

Sen. Arlen Specter, a Democrat who switched parties earlier this year, is struggling for re-election with a 29 percent job approval rating, according to the latest Franklin & Marshall poll. Sixty-six percent in the state said it was time for a new senator.

Obama's job approval rating in the Franklin & Marshall Poll was just 40 percent, lower than his average national job approval rating of just below 50 percent.

There is an interesting video at site on right side bar of Sen. Corker's young daughter being mugged and carjacked.

Has anyone seen a state-by-state job approval poll? I'd like to see where each state stands. I'm surprised PA wnet so low on obama.

Law enforecement sources identified the two suspects as 25-year-old Steven Alston and 22-year-old Walden Conner. Both remain incarcerated in Prince George’s County and face an extradition hearing Friday.

No, but I heard a Tim Burns campaign ad a few days ago. He’s going after Murtha pretty agressively. Burns and Bill Russell are both vying for the Republican spot against Murtha. Both are good men.

Interesting, this was already a month ago (Obama at 40%) . Keystone (now F&M) poll not a Republican poll at all.

This article doesn’t address voter fraud which is rampant in PA and most notably Phillthydelphia which cast more votes than they had registered voters.

The people of Pennsylvania have no one to blame but themselves!

Obamessiah TOLD them he HATED COAL, he TOLD them he was going to enact Cap and Tax and that it would destroy the economy and cause everyone's energy costs to "SKYROCKET"! He TOLD THEM along with the rest of us that he was going to "spread the wealth" = redistribute wealth to HIS PEOPLE, HIS RACE (whatever that is), HIS SUPPORTERS, ONLY: AKA "reparations" on the down-low, Marxism, socialism, communism. HE TOLD THEM THAT HE WAS GOING TO TAX BUSINESSES AND THE EVIL RICH (who CREATE JOBS AND WEALTH FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS) BACK TO THE STONE AGE. THEY KNEW HIS ENTIRE LIFE HE HAS SURROUNDED HIMSELF WITH MARXISTS, RADICALS, SOCIALIST, COMMUNISTS, CONVICTED TERRORSITS, BLACK LIBERATION/"Afro-centric" anti-American, anti-semitic CRAZIES (and yess I AM YELLING!), they KNEW OBAMESSIAH was nothing but a Chicago THUG POLITICIAN.

The voters of Pennsylvania KNEW ALL of this BEFORE THE ELECTION AND VOTED FOR THIS WICKED MAN ANYWAY!!!!!!! And now they are upset because Obamessian is in the process of destroying their livelyhood and their lives...? What did they expect? He told them WHO he was and WHAT he intended to do and the foolish, LIBERAL voters of Pennsylvania voted for him anyway and helped put him right where he is so that he could do exactly what he SAID he would, and they are upset? (See tagline)

Personally, I think Murtha is set for life. Anyone who can call their constituents “ignorant rednecks” and still win the election has it made (although it doesn’t speak too well of the voters there).

I can’t believe so many here were duped into vote for him in the first place. 2010 is going to be a rout, Specter, Sestak...etc.

Actually, I believe the Obama poll numbers are much lower then the national polls state. Fact is, Obama is an empty suit from head to toe.....and, he is now living in a failed Presidency. He is what he is, a community organizer, period. You know what that means in the real world, he sits around and pontificates on all that goes on around him and does absolutely nothing about it. He does not know or understand what decision making leadership means!!!

As a fellow Pennsylvanian I find this poll very interesting. After going through the 23 pages the one thing that sticks out for me are the questions about the State Legislature. The first question asks about overall opinion of the Legislature, which is barely 10% positive but when asked if they would reelect their current State Representative the majority say yes. I see this time after time in these polls. The same holds true for polls of Congress. People think the institution is lousy but their guy is great because he brings home the bacon to the district. Little do they realize that it's the cumulative effect of all that bacon that makes the institution reek.
