If White House social secretary Desiree Rogers survives this week's withering attacks for her role in last week's state dinner security breach, she'll have gotten by with a lot of help from her friends in the West Wing.
As a House committee opened hearings Thursday on how two uninvited partygoers were able to enter the White House grounds and shake hands with President Barack Obama, top presidential aides delivered a clear message to critics of this favored staffer: Back off.
In a White House not known for its tolerance of staffing errors, Rogers has been the beneficiary of an unprecedented show of support from senior administration officials. A former corporate executive from Chicago, Rogers has known the Obamas for more than a decade and seems blessed with a status that may shield her from the fate of departing White House counsel Greg Craig or Louis Caldera, the Military Office head who was canned for a botched Air Force One photo op.

Seems like the are protecting Michelle Obama. Rogers reports directly to Michelle O. If Rogers testified, she would have to acknowledge that WP Reporter notified Courtney O‘Donnell and Katie McCormick at 7:35 and they did nothing. Or they told Rogers or Michelle Obama, and one of both women said to let them slide. They are protecting Michelle Obama as she runs the Social Office and Rogers reports directly to her.
ROXANNE ROBERTS, “WASHINGTON POST”: Yes. I was in the press pool, and the press are sequestered behind ropes, and guests are announced by Maureen (ph), and they come sailing through. Sometimes they talk to us, sometimes they don‘t, and then they go into the dinner.
This couple walks through, and my head sort of shot up because I heard the name, and I looked at them and I thought to myself, Could it be? They looked exactly like this reality show couple, kind of sketchy, from Virginia, and it didn‘t make any sense to me. I looked down at my guest list, because we get official guest lists, and their names weren‘t on it.
They walked through, and I immediately grabbed a White House staffer and said, Could you please verify the names of the people that just came through? And why aren‘t they on the list?
MATTHEWS: What time was this?
ROBERTS: I time-checked our photo that our photographer took at 7:35.
MATTHEWS: So at 7:35, you were “The Washington Post,” and you‘re a well-known reporter and a respected reporter, you told a White House staffer that these people were not on list. And what did they say?
ROBERTS: They didn‘t know why. She said they didn‘t know why.
MATTHEWS: But they did know they weren‘t on the list.
ROBERTS: I said to them, They‘re not on the list. And I said, Why? And she said, I don‘t know. And so then, probably about 15 minutes later, I said to a member of the first lady‘s staff as they were escorting the press back to the press room, I said, This couple that came through—I gave the names again. And they‘d only been announced as Mr. and Mrs. Salahi, so I gave what I thought were their full names. I wanted to make sure—it‘s possible I had...
MATTHEWS: Yes.
ROBERTS: ... misidentified them, but I didn‘t think so. And I said, Can you tell me why they‘re not on the list? And she said, I don‘t know, but I‘ll try to find out. And I didn‘t hear anything for the rest of the evening.
And the reason I think that‘s important is that even after they got inside the White House, the staff had two opportunities to go upstairs to the reception, discreetly pull this couple aside and verify that they were supposed to be there. I don‘t know what time they went through the receiving line, but if they had any ill intention toward the president...

MATTHEWS: And who were they?
ROBERTS: Courtney O‘Donnell and Katie McCormick.
Just like AF1 buzzing the Statue of Liberty - which the WH blamed on some unfortunate Air Force commander, who then took the fall for them. I hope somebody in the SS gets PO'd enough to do something about this.
Obama and his court are undercutting every agency and service in this country. Maybe he wants to replace them with his own.
That “outfit” was gross, but once I read she was the descendant of some voodoo priestess it made more sense that she’d dressed like a witch. And yeah, she is better looking than Patrick Ewing.
Still, this story and Tiger Woods’ cheating is succeeding in keeping the global warming hoax off the news.
And btw, I hear that the “Whack-a-Tiger” clubs are the big-selling Christmas item this year.

Michelle Ma Belle - who according to the supermarket tabloids wants to have an Oprah-like show now that Oprah is leaving the scene - was definitely behind this. Desiree Rogers, former Illinois Lottery Director, may be completely out of her depth and too arrogant to learn, but the invitation and permission had to come from further up the food chain.
That’s the trouble with giving jobs to long time personal friends — often they don’t realize that they’re now supposed to act like somebody who works for you. She didn’t quite realize that she was a White House employee, rather than a member of BamBam’s entourage.
It took 3 SS to take the fall in order to protect Michelle Obama. That doesn’t seem right.

No way. She was suppose to be front and center.
Maybe Obama’s PR campaign was to get their pictures on the upcoming Housewives of DC. Taking and posting the pictures, specifically with Obama, Biden and Emmanuel seems coordinated.
Michelle Obama is going to be on Top Chef in January. They are all about reaching audiences via television shows. Just seems like they wanted to be able to show the pics with the Crashers and O, et al on an upcoming show in order to get more PR. Axelrod is obviously coordinating with Bravo because Michelle is going to be on one of their shows in January. Maybe this was planned, it back fired because the WP reporter quickly asked about them and they thought no one would notice.
Too coincidental that they got all those pics and oh so cozy with Emmanuel and Biden. Michelle and Bravo must have a close relationship and that’s might be what they are trying hide. They fact that they knew they were going to be there.
