Jim DeMint: Tea Parties can defeat Democrats
Politico ^ | 12/2/2009 | Kenneth P Vogel

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), a darling of the Tea Party crowd, credited that movement with blocking Democratic health care reform efforts and predicted the conservative activists behind the movement could ultimately thwart the passage of that bill and others..

"The only reason we don't have national health care right now is you - is the people outside of Washington," DeMint told a gathering of Tea Party activists gathered Wednesday night in Washington for the premiere of a documentary about the movement. "I think we do have a shot at stopping this thing," he said of the health care reform bill the Senate began debating this week.

DeMint added that the grassroots activists who turned out by the tens of thousands at congressional town hall meetings and so-called Tea Parties around the country to voice their displeasure with Democratic health care reform efforts would likely be able to derail other big-ticket initiatives being pursued by President Obama and the Democratic Congress, including plans to limit.

"Now we've seen what an unrestrained Democrat Party can do, and all of America is alarmed. Republicans, independents and many Democrats," he told the more than 200 people gathered at the Ronald Reagan Building to watch "Tea Party: The Documentary."

DeMint spoke as part of a panel of veritable Tea Party all-stars, along with Reps. Reps. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Tom Price of Georgia, Joe Wilson of South Carolina and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas.

You want to stop the next vote on socialized medicine?

Picture the Senate trying to hold a vote when 20,000 people have stormed the Senate Building and are filling the room.

It’s time for REAL resistance. Physically block the building.

Polite protest? They will look out the window, give us the finger and vote against us. Bet on it.

The RNC looks at the Tea Party movement as source of donors and volunteers for RINOs.

Jim DeMint got involved in the Honduran caper, on behalf of law and liberty, and got the O to back down.

So he’s a good guy, and he’s on my radar now.

“The only reason we don’t have national health care right now is you - is the people outside of Washington,”....

Giving credit where credit’s due. Bravo, DeMint. Go Tea Parties.

Since Hunter retired, he’s the best anti-communist we have in DC. One of the very few, at that.

Hey...all you democrap lurkers...

Did you see the Stephen King movie, "The Langoliers"?

Remember, those folks accidently flew their plane through the big "O" in the sky, and those who were asleep were catapulted back in time for a whole day?

Remember the far away noise they heard - that crunching sound - that eventually got louder and louder and then starting consuming everything that was old and outdated...remember...they were the Langoliers.

Well that far off crunching sound you're hearing are the "Tea Partiliers"...and we're coming for you in 2010.

Chomp, chomp, chomp, chomp...

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS - FEAR IS NOT AN OPTION.

This is when I like to say I’m from South Carolina. Go Jim! When Lindsey speaks about Cap and Trade, I’m ashamed. Anybody see Lindsey’s new commercial that he “won’t” support cap and trade (which is not what he said coming out supporting it with Kerry) ... looks like a campaign commercial, guess he got burned pretty badly statewide. I’m told the Charleston Republican Club sent him a reprimand or something. Maybe he’s getting the message. But in the meantime, there’s Jim DeMint to make us proud.

Well, here’s the dilemma for DeMint running for President. According to many here, he can’t run while Senator, and if he steps down to run he will be a quitter. The Quitter label will dog him so bad he will not be able to overcome it.

I think that probably rules him out for many.
