Black Caucus tells Obama you've done too little for African Americans

Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) members on Wednesday criticized the Obama administration for not doing enough to help African-Americans through the bleak economy.

Soon after withholding their votes on a wide-ranging financial services bill, 10 CBC members said they are pressuring the White House to do more.

The House Financial Services Committee voted 31-27 in favor of the bill, but the lawmakers’ boycott came on a major financial measure the administration wants to see Congress pass this month.

“We have not been forceful enough in our efforts to protect the most vulnerable of our population,” said Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who represents one of the nation’s poorest districts. “We can no longer afford for our public policy to be defined by the worldview of Wall Street.”

Why would non-working welfare recipients need more protection? Has Congress stopped rent subsidies, foodstamps and Medicaid?

Those Afri - Americans need to leave the Africa and performance of Africa out of it and become Americans. Go to school. get a job, fall into the system like everyone else. opportunity sits there for anyone who wants to get off their duff and perform.

Black America has a huge social problem by themselves which money cannot solve. The Government cannot solve it either. Explain why the majority of black family households are headed by a woman and no man?
And then the kids are running wild on the streets, wild with no education. Dick weeds. And they wonder why they are a disproportionate of the penal population. And again its whities fault. Flippin dick weeds. Who wants to hire a dropout kid with no skills when things are tight?

And this is because of reparations? This problem aint about moneeee.

Years ago I ran a small radio station in Florida, where I hired a young black guy to work the late air shift.

We had several talks about the black culture and he told me that the black-on-black problems are far worse than black/white problems.

He told countless stories about envy amongst the blacks...he said if one of them gets a new car, there's a good chance someone would vandalize it, just out of envy.

We ALL know that any black who applies him/herself and learns proper English and gets ahead is said to be "Acting White" by other blacks.

That reminded me of the old adage about crabs in a bucket. If you put a bunch of crabs in a bucket, everytime one tries to climb out, the others will reach up and pull him back in while trying to climb over them. That was an interesting and accurate parable to the situation.

I say that to say this in addressing the premise of this story...obama is out to help...obama. He's pulled all of the "crabs" out of the "bucket" he needs, to the rest he's going to throw a few crumbs in and watch them fight over that and pull each other back into the bucket.

Obama was only "pro-black" when he needed their votes...he used the blacks, and some of them STILL don't see it. Many are still waiting on the giant stimulus check from the sky, and it ain't coming.

From the other perspective, if it DID come, in a week they'd be looking for another one. Like trying to feed the giant plant entitlement has become a shop of horrors that can NEVER BE SATIATED.

Of course the black caucus is mad...the gimme's they were pormised are not forthcoming; they've been flim-flammed; they elected a fellow black, and are now finding out that money is thicker than color to the kenyan, barack hussein obama.

Just because muslim kenyans share skin color with Afro-Americans don't mean they share a culture with them...non-muslims are infidels, regardless of color.

So Black Caucus...hang on for the ride, and welcome aboard the hussein express, bound for islam. Mmmmm mmmm mmmm

You are right about them as a people denying themselves success. I think it is ingrained after reading about, hearing about African and then spending four years there. Africans are africans and that is why Africa is Africa... living in its own backwards void. Thats why by themselves they have never been able to get it together to create a civilization... with one exception... as ironic as it is... one exception in Zimbabwe

Here in north America the opportunities are endless if they integrate and get the “african” off their backs.

It is not about race but about culture. If your culture teaches you to think of yourself as outside the society, that is how you will behave and think of yourself-no matter how much opportunity that society gives you to assimilate.

Our folks came here in the ‘20’s and began calling themselves and thinking of themselves as AMERICANS the moment they hit the dirt a Ellis Island. It was the highest compliment they could call one another and the proudest statement they could make about themselves. Since they looked ‘different’ and spoke differently, the Americans already here were tough on them. The immigrants just TOOK THEIR LUMPS and got on with it!!! To this day, I can smell xenophobia from a mile away...THAT'S LIFE!!!!

BUT I don't care about it and I am not in the corner cringing and whining about it OR brutalizing others because they are small enough to behave that way! It ain't just America either, it is everywhere.
