"The women who try to claim Hillary was smart and had to work for everything she got while things were just handed to Sarah Palin have it exactly back-asswards"

I think they share one significant thing in common - their respective public personas are owed completely to other men. In Hilary's case, it's her husband, and in Palin's case it's John McCain. Neither would be where they are today without those men in their lives. Of that, there can be no argument.

Perhaps Hilary would have made it on her own. After all, she was an accomplished attorney before she traded her legal briefs for kitchen aprons in the Governor's mansion. So, I suppose it's possible she could have built her own national political career.

And, Palin had made it to the position of chief executive of her state. But, it was a very sparsely populated state, with total inhabitants less than a medium sized city. She was, for all practical purposes, complete unheard of until just a week (or so) before McCain picked her.

They both made their name trading off someone elses' fame. Why some women hold that against Palin, and not against Hilary, is really anybody's guess.

Interesting to note that the fan base of other female conservative “celebrities” like Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, and Michelle Malkin are majority male.

If Sarah hadn't been picked by McCain, I betcha she'd have gone to the US Senate and used *that* as a springboard.

And you fail to notice that Sarah drew the crowds NOT on McCain's say-so, but by the reaction to her GOP convention speech and her life story: despite an "all-hands-on-deck" effort to destroy her life and reputation by the drive-by media.

And we all know her best seller is because the US public is *dying* to hear from the first second unsuccessful female candidate for Vice President.

Surely you remember the book of Geraldine Ferraro hitting the NYT Best Seller List, and her triumphant book tour?

Nice try, though.

When a sitting Governor is the most popular public official in America and the most popular Governor in America, then you should be able to bring yourself to admit that she is self made.

As Palin lifted the McCain campaign and then maintained a greater leadership position after the election, it is clear again that she is the force, she is self made.
