Criminals - YES! Waiting for the prosecution - well, maybe not since most of the world governments are involved.

Scientist are people too and have the same motives. All scientists want to be funded and do critical, important work (or at least be perceived as doing so). It is not at all surprising to me that some scientists are compromising their credibility to cater to the agenda of politicians with $$. This happens in almost every field—there is always someone who will tell the politicians what they want to hear for personal gain—even in the military.

Commies lie for a living. They'd lied to cover up giving atom bombs to Joe Stalin and they lie to give taxing power to international green activists, makes no difference to them. They pushed Po Mo thought to make lying for a living seem a bit more intellectually respectable. All it ever was.

We should have seen this coming when we turned over all of our educational institutions to the America-hating, Commie ‘RATS. Even our “scientists” are nothing but a bunch of egg-sucking, political hacks willing to say and do whatever it takes to get that next government grant.

Nope, wrong answer. There is funding for everything under the sun, it does not determine which source is picked and favored. The goal hasn't wavered in a hundred years - destroy capitalism. They are commies, plain and simple. They are not innocently mistaken, it is a giant fraud meant to control mankind.

Should we be surprised that the academic left has invaded the physical sciences? Everything liberals touch turn to a big pile of crap.

What is happening at East Anglia is an epochal event. As the hard sciences—physics, biology, chemistry, electrical engineering—came to dominate intellectual life in the last century, some academics in the humanities devised the theory of postmodernism, which liberated them from their colleagues in the sciences. Postmodernism, a self-consciously "unprovable" theory, replaced formal structures with subjectivity. With the revelations of East Anglia, this slippery and variable intellectual world has crossed into the hard sciences.

Absolute must read : John Horgan's THE END OF SCIENCE (1996), which could have been titled POSTMODERN SCIENCE. In fact the author explains the rise of what he calls "ironic science", which is more or less "science as a game". So, doubly ironic when this crowd wants to set the agenda for humanity, as Keepers of the Truth.

Yeah but I've got to believe (glass half full) that both continue to exist, those who dedicate themselves to learning and discovery for its own sake, and those who are in it for the fame and money.

Sharing the raw data along with the methods and the results should be required. Those who do not comply should be shunned. In this era of communication at light speed across the globe, the old way seems stronger than ever to me.

Yes. Science is only the latest. The Left Soils Institutions.

Big labor, education, government, the press are dirty and demeaned in their relationship with the Democrat party.

“Sharing the raw data along with the methods and the results should be required.”

If they are not doing that, they have no right to call it science.

The guy who invented the idea of "Open Source" software has the right idea. Put the data and methods of any scientific publication on a website, open to everyone and anyone. It'll be painful for a while as errors are caught and corrected, but science will advance more rapidly as a result.

These sleazeballs in the "fiction science" business of "climate change" are giving all of science a black eye. Yes, damn it, there ARE those of us who dedicate ourselves to learning and discovery, and we are mad as hell with those who are doing so. May many maledictions fall upon their heads!!!

Well, of course not everyone does it, but I’m just saying that there are people in every field who will willingly subvert their integrity for $$, rank, or even perversion. Scientists, Priests, and Military Officers often get lumped into the same exhaulted category, as if their motives were always pure. Hopefully most are, but there will always be those bad apples.

I’m not implying the scientists are innocently mistaken. They know full well what they are doing in the service of schemeing politicians. The goal of the scientist may be to get funding (rather than destroy capitalism, perse), but they are weapons in the fight nontheless.

They are not innocently mistaken, it is a giant fraud meant to control mankind.

It is the largest premeditated fraud ever devised and the destruction of our sovereignty is paramount. Individual rights be damned. When are the crickets-chirping Republicans going to express outrage?...call for hearings?...call for criminal investigations/RICO? We know where the international socialists, the UNaccountable bureaucrats and the enemy-within-socialist-democrats stand. The domestic enemies are 535 con-men of congress. The good statist/bad statist con-game is being exposed. We the people are the premeditated targets of the deceivers...every one of us - our children - our grandchildren.

Those involved have committed treason to civilization and their fellow human beings.

In a recent IBD editorial...

Media: The shameless denial with which major newspapers and networks have treated "Climategate" layers even more scandal on top of the original one: Mainstream media now co-conspirators with scientific hacks and big government.

FReeper Gator113 recently posted...

Heads should roll from top to bottom over this, so much so, that we should be filling prisons all over the world with these criminal conspirators..

A call to action for the world? When, in the course of human events,...

Excellent mention of 'open source'. I personally run a business for profit and have benefited from the contributions of many other people who share freely in the open source world of e-commerce.

It's the freedom to share free enterprise on a global scale.

If you're not familiar with perhaps the best example of open source read Why Apache Software is Free Bottom of the page.

Apache continues to lead the world in server language, doubling it's nearest competition quietly, correctly, and rightly. Open source is truly a force for good in the world, something science would do well to embrace right about now.
